I need help !

Post by Cathmin » Sun Mar 15, 2020 12:02 pm

Hello forum members! I am reading this forum for 2 years and you guys really helped me. I lost my last account password so I made this one today. I am student of electrical engineering and I am building some 808 bass/kick module for my college. I was wondering if someone have Ray Wilsons book Make: Analog Synthesisers.I am planning to buy it but at I am poor at the moment since my country is in deep shits. If someone have that book i am begging him/her to scan or take photo of the part about triangle to saw conversion with LM13700 OTA. :help: :help: :help:

Sharing copyright material is against the rules of the forum. However, you can get your questions answered for free with a bit of Googling. For instance: http://musicfromouterspace.com/analogs ... lfo-3.html

or: https://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/ ... ic=31635.0

or even: https://www.soundtronics.co.uk/Datashee ... 01-VCO.pdf which has an article by Ray on the subject.

I just wanted to say that there is still a lot of information available online that is free without infringing any copyright. this website for example, has all the information in it but it is all buried in discussions about the circuits in those books for example. Go ahead and dig through the stickies. search the DIY sub forum for "VCO" or "VCA". check elby designs schematics. you can learn a lot from that.

triangle to saw conversion with LM13700 OTA. :help: :help: :help:
you can use any four quadrant multiplier and a square wave +/- it does not need to be a LM13700. it does not need to be an OTA IC. it just needs to have a gain cell that can do four quadrant multiplication. a gilbert cell for example. a blackmore gain cell. here is another example of how to do ring mod of triangle with square in the TH 555 VCO. there are others. probably electro notes has what you are looking for in some super old thing.

You also might consider just asking your question in the DIY section. The people that hang out there are genuine wizards.

EDIT: I just realize I'm in that section somehow. I am not a genuine wizard.

Could have sworn I was in Modular General...

I moved the topic and left a shadow so the OP would know where to find it. :tu:
