How difficult is repairing Arturia Microbrute?

Post by EliasKnaapinen » Thu Mar 19, 2020 2:45 pm

Hey. I found someone selling a Microbrute for 80 €. They said it has some noisy pots and bad sliders. How hard do you think this would be to repair? I can solder and handle my other tools quite well. I just find information on Minibrute, not Microbrute. How similar are they inside?
Questions:
- How are the electronics laid out inside Microbrute? Is it hard to take apart?
- Are the components standard in size and values like resistance range? Can I find replacement components?
- Does the oscillator track V/OCT like Eurorack?

Thank you, Elias

I'd say it would be easier than other modern synths, because all of the schematics are available ( http://hackabrute.yusynth.net/index_en.php?&arg=4 ) which is rare these days. The oscillator is v/oct.

Arturia Microbrute Envelope (ADSR) sliders / faders

Does anyone know specifically what these sliders are on the MicroBrute? I have tried to compare the PCB document to loads of different sliders. I think I should just buy the unit and inspect the sliders myself. If I cant find ones to replace them, I'll just solder a few pots instead.
