This looks fun.

Maybe I'll do one on some of the useless stripboard I have kicking around.

Thanks!

Hi, I made this ^^. If anyone has any questions about the build (or a need for PCB, panel or kit), let me know.
Maybe I'll do one on some of the useless stripboard I have kicking around.
If you do, maybe you could share a stripboard layout? I could include it on my project page.

Firmware v1.2 now has chromatic mode and a polyphonic sequencer. ;)

Just received my Panel and PCB today, they are gorgeous. Just need to wait for the parts now.

To everyone else who has ordered: Shipping within Germany is no problem, but DHL currently refuses any shipments abroad due to corona. I'm looking for other options that still work.

In the meantime, here's some front panel porn:

How "hard" of a build is it? I am very inexperienced. Does it habe SMD components on it?

Greetings from Cologne!

No SMD.

Read this a few times:

Well, technically the microcontroller board has SMD parts, but those are already done. ;)

So it's quite easy.

Easy, but panel wiring can be a cause for newbie confusion.

I'm looking at starting one of these. What did you use for the touch pads? They look nice and solid.

The white prototype has a type of glass frame fitting, but it's not ideal. For the black one (as well as for my kits and builds) I'm using the same screws that the Lyra has, only larger.

Thanks, I had no idea they were just thumbscrews. This makes is easier to track down for me. Thanks!

The front panels are from PCB stock, no?

Why not do ENIG touchpads on the PCB panel? I like the big thumbscrews, but touch panels are fun, too!

Yes, these are FR4 panels. I was thinking about embedded touch sensors like e.g. Make Noise René, but in the end decided against it. I think the bigger surface area of the metal plates gives you more control. I also like the haptics of it more.

Here I'm testing a few builds together with a DFAM:

What USB connectors would be the most durable solution to use in peoples opinion ?
Looking for something that is able to be securely screwed into the enclosure, as opposed to just using a dangling cable.
It's the last missing piece of the jigsaw.

I think USB B is quite the strong connector, and also quite easy to find cables for. And there are a ton of connectors you can screw onto the case.

Anyone know of a good enclosure solution in the states? Got my kit today, but the recommended box is only in DE...

I’ve got a bamboo box from Amazon, 6x9x2.5. I just measured, and it might be a bit small for the panel... I’ll know when the kit arrives. I was hoping the difference between US and German Amazon would be units of measurement.

these look awesome. going to add this to my to do list. I know it's maybe not the point and it's great how it is already but would some sort of sequencer sync option be a possibility in the future?
