LED bar displays scanner

Post by tardishead » Fri May 15, 2020 4:45 am

I’m looking at options for LED bar displays for a scanner I’m building. Something like Knight Rider ha!
I only have 8 stages
I’ve seen the usual bars standard 2.54mm spacing with vertical mounted LEDs which are a bit small but there are wider ones with horizontal LEDs. Unfortunately I can’t find 8 segment versions of the wider type. I doubt whether there are any but wondered if anybody had come across anything
Also I’m generally looking for inspiration and options for LED bar type arrays in a modular format
Standard LEDs with some kind of custom lens/bezel could also be an option

Go discreet. You can buy LEDs in lots of shapes. Get some large rectangular or square ones and stack them next to themselves in a single rectangular hole. KingBright and others make some nice large ones. A lot more work of course but you can design them the way you want.
