There will arrive 3-4 new units hopefully during this week and plenty more in 3 weeks approx.
Just joined the waitlist, hope there'll be one left for me :nana: !
... why buy it for $100 when you can build it yourself for $150?

Received an "it's available" e-mail yesterday evening, but when I clicked the link there already weren't any left.

I hope that was referring to the 3 - 4 units you mentioned last week, and I can get one when the announced bigger batch becomes available ;) .

thats brilliant, thank you. id love a metal enclosure. sorry one more question does it have separate outputs for the sounds? also if youre tinkering with MIDI if it could also send MIDI notes out that would be superb.!

Very excited, will def grab one in the next run, thanks for sharing!
This sounds great! And yes, agree that any sort of case would be handy.

So did/am I :D. Received the pots and the whatchamacallit SMT chips that go on the back side yesterday. The only parts now still on their way are the switch buttons (should arrive today or tomorrow) and the breakout boards (hope to have them by the end of next week).

I started soldering it, I still need to receive some parts...
A couple of questions:

1) where is the firmware? ;-)
2) do you have a link or a a part number for the MIDI stereo Jack?

1- I´ll send you to your mail. Flashing it it´s a complex process only suited for advanced users. You need to have an stlinkv2 programmer, platformio, stlink programming utility and experience with bluepills. For non experts it´s better to source one preprogrammed chipset with the PCB

2- This kind:

oh, I thought It was something doable with Arduino IDE and USB. However, I have a StlinkV2, I think I can manage that, but never used a "Blue Pill"...
Thansk for the hint about the jacks, I have plenty of them but I am afraid they are all mono...

What do we do when firmware updates time comes round. Is that a simpler process?

Hopefully - I'd like mine to accept a MIDI clock (or is this already implemented with the ones sent about 2 weeks ago?) so I can easily integrate it with my other setup. I use the E-RM MIDI Clock as master clock.

Oh - and I just saw it is my 4 year WiggleVersary today   .

For updating the software you need an stlinkv2 too. It´s simpler as it has the bootloader and you dont need to compile nothing, just upload the firmware.

The stlinkv2 costs around 2-4USD depending on where you get it.

You can also update just using USB but it´s way more complex and not suitable for beginners.

There must be a way to update easily via USB but I haven´t found how to do it yet.

The actual one emits clock pulses but not accepts midi nor clocks yet. It should be implemented, hopefully, in a few months. The guy that is helping me with midi is quite busy.

If there are coders interested in collabs with Spherical Sound Society, please PM :tu:

Is a FW only option possible in the future? I'd probably make a panel with bigger buttons. I guess i'd need just some perfboard that connects a generic MCU daughterboard and display etc and holds some connectors for the wiring. If not, a pcb + chip solution would be cool too, probably more easymode

Firmware? 8-)

And I ordered one of these ST-Link V2 thingies today, it was about € 3.60 in total. I'll be ready for updates when they come.
And I hope I get the few remaining parts by the end of this week so hopefully I can finish the build soon. Most of it is done now.

The breakout boards are still missing and on their way, so is the 4N35. It only needs to be inserted into the socket when it arrives, and I need to solder the display and the otherwise finished OPL2 sub board. LEDs, pots, switch buttons and the other parts are all done now.

Yes Firmware only would be cool. If I understand correctly the pcb is mostly control surface and keeps the MCU and display running. So I could probably do without it, but I would also get the pcb + chip option of course.
