How can I find L brackets sized for M3 screws ?

How do you call them ? :hmm:

I need to mount some PCBs at 90 degrees of a panel. Ideally I would need one angle of the bracket with a "stretched" hole so I can adjust its position regarding the holes placement on the PCB.

Thanks !

Those ones seem to be exactly what I'm looking for (except not M3, but that may still fit).

I thought it was a pretty common product but it seems not...

cool. the panels they sell actually have a threaded hole so you dont need to have a hole in the front plate, but theyre 5u motm size only, dont know if thats any good to you.

talk to a sheet metal shop about aluminum. the squares can be punched out quickly. bending many sheets to the same 90 bend is easy at a shop that has those tools. you can get these down to $1 in short run or $0.80 in bulk.

A length of angle aluminum (1x1" or 1.5 x 1.5"), cut into a few short lengths, drill a few holes. Done.

$10 bucks or so for a three foot length of angle aluminum ... enough there to make at least thirty six brackets. You need access to a hacksaw, a vise, a flat file to dress edges, and a drill/drill bits.

if you are going to drill aluminum you should have one of these. do not use it on steel. wood and alu only.

Keystone 612 Mounting Bracket, there not M3 though, but just change the screw. keystone makes other 600 series.

If you need it for a one time thing, front panel express has theirs (6.5mm from edge to center of hole, M3)

page 12: https://www.frontpanelexpress.com/downl ... sembly.pdf

If you're in the US, its not going to be easy finding M3 hardware, consider going down to 4-40 and then you will have all sorts of options (mouser has a good selection). Otherwise, Ettinger is the place for metric hardware, you can get it through Newark but they have to get it from the UK so there is a flat processing fee
