USB breakout/extension from module to separate euro panel?

Post by nrg242 » Tue Jun 30, 2020 2:30 pm

DIY noob here.

I'm looking for a way to get access to a rear mounted USB drive on the Instruo Arbhar without having to unrack the eurorack module every time i want to get access to the USB on the back (for uploading my own samples). I've been looking into panel mounted USB jacks, but they all seem oriented towards power. i also haven't had much luck finding a male USB jack that i could wire up and would extend over to the Arbhar behind a euro panel.

FWIW, the Arbhar accepts only the bare male USB tip (without the metal jacket). I guess an ordinary extension cable would fit into the back of the module. :help:

Just to confirm, USB with metal jacket can be used. See picture, an ordinary USB extension is attached here:
