jakplugg Typhoon questions
Gonna try put a couple of these together next.
Few questions though...
1. The BOM doesn't specify what value the slider pots should be. The original Clouds uses B10k for these, but then this comment https://github.com/jakplugg/Typhoon/iss ... -585189345 on github from jakplugg says A10k. Just checking if they have been intentionally switched from linear to audio or if it's maybe a typo/mistake.
2. Does anyone have a compiled hex file of the firmware they can share please? Always have issues getting virtualbox to work properly and trying to compile them myself. If I have a .hex I can just upload via STLink.
3. Is the calibration procedure the same as OG Clouds?
Thanks!

Re: jakplugg Typhoon questions
No, sorry. This is the standard clouds firmware. Ill search for the superparasites firmware for you.
I'm not familiar with this firmware, is it just the parasites firmware or is there a super version?

Oh nice one thanks a lot! This should do it, tried searching for it myself but couldn't seem to find the hex only the wavs.

Re: jakplugg Typhoon questions
I used the standard Bourns B10K sliders. I think the exact part was PTL30-15W1-103B1 -- check the dimensions on the data sheet to be sure.
You can also buy different color 2x3 LEDs (like a Bivar R3YC) if the pot doesn't come in the color that you want. The LED pull out of the sliders easily. Just make sure you pre-match them to the proper size resistors before you solder the SMD resistors on the Typhoon board or the LEDs will likely be too dim.

Question about this, just bought second hand a typhoon the "Jak Plugg" version with the "wrong" faceplate where Time ABCD and Bank 1248 are interchanged
well, to my surprise and disappointment the pitch control - named "tune" does not work in a wide range like on clouds or supercell or uBurst but like a finetune maybe one half tone on the whole rotation - wtf ?
Is that a known error or a variation done on purpose ?
is there a fix, mount a different pot.
damnit won't buy any second hand stuff without trying out anymore
thats one control i used all the time downtuning to extreme values, now i would have to feed an offset voltage into one of the two pitch cv inputs - those work like normal

Re: jakplugg Typhoon questions
Didn't get round to building one yet, but from the original Supercell I see:
So, this behavior may be as intended? Can probably be fixed by routing the Pitch pot to the V/Oct input, but might need a summing op-amp if not already present.grayscale.info wrote:Pitch is now controlled by two separate inputs: the V/Oct input is exponential and the Pitch input is linear. When both inputs are used, their voltages are summed.
