what do you use in kicad for banana jack symbol?

Post by htor » Sat Sep 12, 2020 8:23 am

in the Eeschema program i want to draw a banana jack, but i can't find any symbol representing that. where do i find it?

i've used global labels to represent bananas until now, but a banana jack symbol would be much more readable!

thanks

A banana socket is a single pin connector so the generic single pin connector symbols from the included Connector library are perfectly fine - they are not tied to a particular footprint so the fact that it is a banana will be determined by the choice of footprint, not the schematic symbol. I use the male variant (Connector:Conn_01x01_Male) for output connectors and the female (Connector:Conn_01x01_Female) for input connectors to help make the schematic readable.
