Love the modular approach with the step banks. What a beauty!Haralds:Werk wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 9:34 amSequencer Nostalgia
This was my first build when I came back to SDIY. A three row/16 step sequencer. Completely build on stripboard. Still working after all this years. Only hand sketched schematics. Nothing to publish. Pictures only.

looks good, sounds good!ketem13 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 12:12 pmFor the past few months I was working on a diy modular system from scratch mainly from cgs schematics.
Here is my first complete module: Dual CGS VCF.
The front panel is only prototype as I'm waiting to some aluminium panels to arrive!

Here's the module, as usual with a french voice and an english subtitle.
Enjoy!

I know I'm late to the party, but goddamn that Lyra-8 is impressive and beautiful.
Re: The 2021 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!
here is some stripboards modules I was working on in the last 3 months
CGS Dual VCS
CGS Dual VCF 1973
CGS TWS
CGS VCM + MI Rectifier
CGS SSG + MFOS White Noise/Low Noise/High Noise
MI Veils
I couldn't wait to connect it and check everything so I did not make any front panel layout.. I may will write by hand, or may leave it as it is and practice my memory.

Always impressive to me. Is your facility to build without boards and unmarked front panels something to do with photographic memory?
Re: The 2021 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!
no board at all, it's like building the structure. and very fun and creative.
thanks, i think, I have not so much with photographic memory. Maybe more with mnemonic. Sometimes l forget the which jack. More use, more remember. At planning the location of jack, i follow logic, left in , right out, related ones in the same column, usw. Then, not so much need to remember.wiperactive wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 12:32 pm

I think, such process at build is also making specific module to more personalized to me.

Re: The 2021 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!
I see. Still, even with mnemonics I've always had a lousy memory... though I'm planning to build a few very simple minimal cost quad attenuators without labels and no more. I tend avoid those Make Noise modules because of this!gnsk wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 6:45 pmthanks, i think, I have not so much with photographic memory. Maybe more with mnemonic. Re: The 2021 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!
I already posted this in last year's DIY Builds thread, so I thought I'd put it in the proper thread. It's my new "lite" frequency shifter. It has no on-board VCO, but it has a second broadband Dome filter for generating quadrature signals from any external MOD source (or you can put in external SIN and COS signals). It works great. I'll be making a video later today.

Cool! I am also interested in building a frequency shifter and I am interested in a video / audio examples. And compliments for your technical "build-up".Dr. Sketch-n-Etch wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 6:29 pmI already posted this in last year's DIY Builds thread, so I thought I'd put it in the proper thread. Hi all! Long time lurker here, figure it's as good as any time to start posting.

^ Congrats! You'll quickly get the 2021 resolution sorted, but bad news on 2022. It never gets any better and Andrew doesn't help it by putting out new drugs faster than the CIA! I tried to jump ship from euro to Loudest warning to get away from the NLC GAS and currently find myself porting one off NLC into Loudest warning. I'm fucked haha.
Edit: what color LEDs are you using? I'm always intrigued by water clear.

Re: The 2021 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!
Hahaha! It's funny because I was starting to collect SMD NLC modules used and realized how broke I was becoming, which was actually why I started the whole SMD soldering resolution in the first place. Now I'm going to start selling off more of my "commercial" modules to fund more DIY...it never ends, which is the sign of a perfect hobbyNeolithicElectrophones wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 1:55 am^ Congrats! Oooh, cool on the ports!! I'm thinking about dipping my toes into the 4U water...I'd love to see some pics if you have the time
