Synth DIY Wiki is your friend.sterio wrote:Hey everybody !
Does someone happen to have the book "Electronic Music Circuits: The Reprints Vol 1" by Thomas Henry in pdf ? There was a google drive link that you could easily find but its's now dead.
Go here: https://sdiy.info/wiki/
Type "Thomas Henry" into the search box.
Scroll down to "Papers and Articles"
Look at the "On Web" column, click on "Electronic Music Circuits: The Reprints, Vol 1" then on the next page click on "The_Reprint_Collection_by_Thomas_Henry_CC_BY_NC.pdf"
Enjoy the rabbit hole!
Hiya
I made myself a little cheatsheet with all the eurorack dimensions and sizes I use regularly
Though I'd share in case anyone else found it useful

Re: DIY learning resources
thanks for all the great resources, ppl.
i'm currently teaching myself electrical engineering using the great khan academy.
i don't know linear algebra too well and i don't know any calculus, but it should be ok just to get an overview.
https://www.khanacademy.org/science/ele ... gineering/
if you haven't used khan academy before, you should check it out. it has lots and lots of material on maths and science presented in a simple format using voice and drawing on a black board. like this:

Re: DIY learning resources
I’ve built many guitar pedals and ma familiar with Eagle PCB. I want to get started building Eurorack stuff. I need a parts library does someone have a link? Speaking of which where do you source parts?
I might give KiCAD a try. If someone ha a link to resources for that pass those along!

Re: DIY learning resources
A couple years ago Georgia Tech started a "Fundamentals of ECE Design" course targeted as juniors. As part of this, I'm putting together some video review of circuit theory. I just posted one about how to think about representing information as voltages vs. currents, and on input and output impedances:
There will be more to come.

Re: DIY learning resources
A follow-up to my last post; here I talk about op amps, Norton amps, OTAs, and 2164-style current-in, current-out VCAs.
Re: DIY learning resources
Throwing this inkscape file (basic components and punch holes) out there in the hopes that someone finds it useful--so feel free to critique, build upon, or post your own. This has been for personal use so.
As far a debugging sdiy, see craque's post on page 1! Especially numbers 3 and 4. And Here's Ray Wilson's page on debugging.
