EML 101 users owners help please
ok i have an issue with my eml 101 it seemd someone has turned my Control mode 1 three position rotary switch on osc one and pulled off the wires from 3 parts of it. I see the wires clear and can fix this i just need a pic of the knob behind the panel to see as where what wire goes where. there is a brown , grey, and a green wire that came off.
Please anyone with an eml 101 help me fix my beast.

It's beter to have cords and not need them than to need them and not have them.

ok.. just a simple basic question.. been trying to get my 101 to sequence.. where are you meant to start?
i have had some joy with trigger and modulation inputs..
the keyboard input looks the correct place but nothing has any effect from that..got odd ring mod sequences going.. and ticks
my model 500 also works in a very random way syncing the lfo to the S1/S2 cv/gate input.. its not really making normal east coast controllable melodies but it is in time and the notes respond to cv..
ANY help with the (supposedly)correct settings for 101/500 would be most welcome..

I don't understand the question.josaka wrote:ok.. just a simple basic question.. been trying to get my 101 to sequence.. where are you meant to start?

Sequence it on its own? Or, from a 1V/O sequenced CV source?
You won't be able to using the standard 1V/O "standard".josaka wrote:control them... in any wayfrom a daw /sequencer..
the manufacturers method firstly..
or any people have found.
EML was a bunch of engineers. 12 semitones/Octave. They assigned 0.1V/semitone to control their VCOs. So, 1.2V/O.
ARP and Moog chose 1V/O. which boils down to 0.833V/semitone.
Any 1V/O CV source will be flat at 1 octave.
There's nothing magical about the slope. You're either going to either make a gain amp box with a 1.2 gain. Or, have a tech re-calibrate the exponential amps to accept a 1V/O CV.
That will screw up your keyboard tracking though. They generate 1.2V/O.
from what I can gather the 101 is 3.3hz .. you need to cv/gate it from the keyboard(mine has little effect..not sure if it needs to be set specifically)
or from the trigger(which works well but triggers only 1 envelope?) and the Osc control(for cv) ..all in all it doesn't make life very straight forward.

ok.. small update..
got it running pretty well.. just using a Korg SQ-1 set to 1.2hz/v..
inputting the CV to "osc control" and Gate to "trigger in".. that gets the signal to env 2..
..need to turn the the "Oscillator Control" "osc 4/Ext- Sampler" knob all the way to the left to the "osc 4/Ext"side ...it tracks ok over 2 octaves or so..
..true its not perfect but it opens it up to some greatness as well..
as a note/tip the sq-1 seems to not output quite enough juice from the internal sequencer(strange but it also may be me) I overcame(?!) this buy using slides which had some unusual but usable moments..
when I used the sq-1 via the computer usb it worked as you would expect..oddly.. still.. its given a new life to the king of quirk.

here I have a video where I sequence it with my René
hope it helps, ask question if any
