Pots 5 and 7 are pretty close to Pots 4 and 6, so placing a piece of electrical tape on the side of the Pots 4 and 6 is a good idea.

Also, mount the jacks to the board before the pots. This will give the proper height for the pot pins.

If anybody is having an issue getting theirs to work, double check the board mounted pots. The board has five holes to accommodate different types of pots. It is really easy for the standard alpha (16mm?) Pot's middle pin to short to one of the adjacent pins.

If I was doing this, I would bend those pins clear on the pot, and then connect them with some insulated hook up wire. Also, I strongly recommend using lock washers between the panel and 17mm pots. These pots are not anchored to the board, and will otherwise spin when you tighten the panel screws (this might be your problem).

Excellent Module!

Post by Mr_Mojo_Risin » Wed Nov 30, 2016 12:40 am

Success! Such a great sounding module from synthCube!! This one really provides a broad spectrum of sounds.
As others have mentioned, the key to making this one work is carefully reading the build docs.
I used Module Build Document v7.0 and the single PCB version.
I was a little disappointed to find it was too deep for Pittsburgh Modular Cell[48] and Cell[90] cases.
However, with a couple of easy mods, I was able to turn it parallel to the panel and make it fit.
It was working at the first power on. Love it when that happens. :yay:

Glad to hear of your successful build. I really love the module and just used it in a patch last night.

I was wondering where you obtained version 7.0 of the build document?

It's been more than one week so I can't remember where I got it :hmm:
I'm fairly certain synthCube sent me the v7 manual and BOM docs attached in an email.

Hey wigglers!
Back on this shitty pcb for the third time without any success...
Is there a doc with the right PCD's labels? All I have for sure is FREQ, RESO and NOTCH.
Rev7 of synthcube's build doc is not helping for this.
Like: "26. Next, solder the ‘Audio 2’ input jacks and pots." Ok..

Any help on right labels would be appreciated!

Cheers!

Solved, I've been a dick!

OK, I'm stuck.
Do you see any obvious mistake?

I'm a beginner and I don't know how to test a circuit nor read a schematic, best you know that...

Thanks for your help.

It's always difficult to tell without having the PCB in-hand but here are some potential problems I see from those images;

1) Solder bridge?
2) Short between resistor and nut?
3) Any insulation or gap between the aluminum sheeting?

I've just assembled mine (I'm new to DIY too but it works).

Here are pics for reference if you still need it.

I haven't calibrated it yet but it already sounds very nice.

Just bought one of these second hand. Is it possible to adjust the amount of resonance? Mine doesn't go into self-resonance.

I think SEM VCF never self oscillate.

Mine is really strange, i have the first version, Blue PCB.
It's workoing only when i put out the TL074, and Offset 1 and Offset 2 doesn't change nothing.
Somebody have idea??

Please somebody can help me?
I don't understand why Offset don't change anything to my filter.

THe filter works, i can't have a real Hipass and real Lopass, it is like the filter works in really short range.
