Parallel Fx Chains

Post by lumena » Tue Nov 03, 2020 11:28 am

I am looking at various ways to set up a parallel fx chain. I am looking for any comments and/or examples of using something like a Spaceman Effects Mission Control or an Old Blood Noise Blender. Please tell me your experiences or other solutions.

Scroll down the topics to 'Seeking demo of tri parallel mixer' and read my comments there.
3 chains is better than 2!
Alternatively you use pedals that have a Blend control. I found that parallel fx chains only work for studio work for bass. Through an amp in a live band context the subtleties of my fancy blended chains were lost.
But I can nail Fascination St through the studio monitors now which is super fun

There are a good deal of demos on the Mission Control:

Personally, I just use a simple Boss Line Selector - cheap and easy to use - perfect for me.

Although I've simplified my live pedal board, I still recommend getting into parallel fx chains and experimenting, if you can play them back through high quality full range amps or monitors.
