This might be the thing that makes me break my "no knobless shaft pots" rule. Still a terrible design decision, since there's room for them.

The exact second this appeared for sale on cooper fx website I added to cart. By the time the browser redirected to PayPal (couple seconds) and I hit pay, PayPal said it sold out lol

I was in a meeting when they went on sale. In hindsight this is one of those things where the level of idiotic hype makes me not even want it. And those no knob knobs.

I pre ordered one at a dealer the moment i got the email about the upcoming release. the small knobs suck, but when i look at my euro rig 1/3 of them have the same size but still manageble to work with

I never understood this one. Have the Cooper gen loss v1, and never liked it in comparison to Shallow water or chase WV.

I wound up getting this and it's interesting - line level from my interface (instruments are all boxed up to move across town) has to be pulled down pretty hard to avoid clipping but I'm liking it for screwing with vocal samples (the generation/noise/filters are very interactive) and it was predictably easy to go all of Boards of Canada on a pad from the Arturia Jupiter-8 emulation.

OTOH, it's real tempting to sell it for the $700+ they're going for on Reverb and get a couple of Eurorack modules to do similar things like a Morgasmatron and a bitcrusher, but the new wow and flutter work better than I've experienced with other digital emulation pedals.

If I didn't want to try it with guitar and OTB, Audio Thing's Reels sounds just as good (with strengths in different areas) for $40 or whatever that costs now.

Paying retail: worth it. Can't imagine dropping what collectors have spent on these over the past year, though.

The annoying thing is most of these are purchased just to turn around and put it on reverb at twice the price along with some narrative like "my wife was mad and made me sell it"

On the guitar forms they were saying that some of the authorized retailers were posting these at flipper prices on release day. No shortage of suckers, it seems.

I kind of tired of this hipster rat race, where these pedals are sold out even before release......the prices on Reverb are just insane. Some of the Generation Loss/CBA are over a grand (there's a posting asked for US$2000......).

I mean, from the demos, it seems quite up there - would really like one, but not for that kind of coin.

Seriously thinking in getting a SolidGold NU33 for a bit over US$200 - seems to do the same tricks.

hungry robots just released their wardenclyffe deluxe, and it's pretty similar to the gen loss but (to my mind) better and cheaper...

I have an alarm set for the next batch of these. I liked the idea of simultaneous HPF and LPF on the Gen Loss, but the wet/dry implementation of the filter on the Wardenclyffe is cool too. I like the noise controls even if they are knobless shafts. I want the noise post filter too so I am thinking WC deluxe in HPF into Shallow Water will give me what I want. SW has the nicest tone and modulation of all the warblers I have tried; that's going to be hard to top.
