Big EHX fan here.

The new reissue Ram's Head Big Muff is phenomenal. Not just for the price. Period.

I've found that a lot of the deluxe models of their pedals have added features that make them worth the extra money. The DBM has a built in wah circuit that gets more use than my Crybaby.

Hello Wigglers

Longtime listener, first time caller. Going tomorrow to look at some kinda guitar synth rack unit the guy says is an old EHX but the pic he sent (sorry don’t have it on my phone) doesn’t have any kind of model name on the front besides “guitar synthesizer”. A brief search came back with nada. It looks like a giant EHX Micro Synth in rack form (same sliders)

Any ideas what it could be? I’m always down for weird rack fuckery.

Thanks!

Does it sound/track decent? Most EH stuff works pretty well. Good investment at any rate. :boat:

Tracks better than I was led to believe it would! Tracking seems to be very dependent on pickup selection. It is definitely its own beast, and not as similar to the Microsynth/Pog family as you might think.

Luckily after playing around with it for a few nights i can say i definitely would rather have the $$$ Too many things on my wishlist...

I like EHX pedals but it drives me crazy how easy the damned paint scratches off them!!

I mean, come on, how hard is it to add a bloody clearcoat to protect it?

keep meaning to find some clear plastic adhesive to overlay, but never get around to it.

I used to do this with my skiis, they stayed in great shape, despite getting trodden on while waiting for the lifts etc

I shouldn't buy anything else these days, but I'm seriously considering grabbing a Clockworks and a Frequency Analyzer... maybe a CrashPad as well. I can get them new with 35%-50% off (about $110 for the Clockworks,$90 for the FA, and $80 for the Crash Pad). I want the Clockworks to control my Nord Drum without having to fire up and patch the modular, and well, I like ring modulators.

I had a RS for years, nice and weird, with cv in, but so characteristic in sound you cannot use it often: great onetrickpony!

CV In... unipolar +5V, I assume? What did You manipulate it with?

What about the tuning and sympathetic drones? With expression... I get excited thinking about it!

I have one for dirt cheap. It is awesome but I'm selling because I am buying a Danelectro Baby Sitar.

The Crash Pad is the most economical synth/drum voice that there is. I'm amazed that there aren't 100's more mentioned everywhere.

It can be cymbal/noise/hat/drum/bass drum/effect/snare/etc...

Well, the store is now offering free shipping and 6 interest-free payments on top of the discounts. That did it for me. I ordered the Crash Pad, Clockworks and Frequency Analyzer with 50% discount. I now own 7 EHX pedals (including Bass Big Muff, 720, Freeze and Bassballs).
