Lexicon MPX1 - "7 Pin Midi In" Question

Post by vanianbulman » Tue Dec 17, 2019 12:43 pm

Howdy,

I'm looking at maybe picking up a Lexicon MPX1, but I'm having trouble understanding the midi In - Why is it called out as being 7-pin while the Thru and Out are 5-pin? Is it Midi or is it Din Sync? Will I be able to control it via midi?

The PDF manual can be viewed here - the back panel layout is on page 12.

Thanks for your help.

On p. 1-3, the manual states, "A 7-pin DIN connector is provided for MIDI IN or a powered remote. Use standard MIDI cable assemblies, available from your local dealer."

If you use a 7 pin cable with the mpx foot controller, it will supply power to the foot controller from the rack unit. Be mindful not to use a 7 pin cable with an incompatible foot controller, or you can fry it.
