Maestro Echoplex - all time fave. Love how it sounds! And how simple to use and hands on it is. I could probably call it one of my main instruments..!

Serge WAD - Not so much for longer delays, but for deeply (dangerously) adventurous audio mangling. That + another delay = ecstasy.

Recently got rid of my other digital delays and got the Strymon Volante. Love how that sounds too, great or quieter delaying. I gotta still learn how to properly utilize it's possibilities though...

Also: Don't have but love:

Binson Echorecs

Roland Space Echo

Some ancient Dynacord that I used (can't remember the model) was excellent!

I've been very intrigued by the Morley rotating wah oil can delay for ages too..!

Alright, had to change my list. The Lexicon Prime Time 93 is blowing me away. This thing is incredible.

Yes! Echoplex.. I’ve never actually tried one yet. I’ve wanted to. Any that I’ve heard blew me away.
I had a Watkins Copicat for about 2 years that was in good shape but was incredibly finicky.. I don’t think I could bring it to a live show. The tension arm was trouble.

I’ve never heard the Serge WAD.. I’ll give that a listen!

The Dynacord stuff is amazing.. I had heard about them just by browsing around for tape echoes and such.

I’ve seen pictures of Bernard Parmegiani’s studio from back in the day and he had a few of them, along with a digital reverb! They all sound so good and are pretty underrated!

The only delay I have is from the Matriarch, which is nice. Also borrowed a MF104M and like that with the feedback.

Would like to try

Love the Serge WAD, one of the best sounding delays ever made. Really touchy, though.

For Euro, I'm currently using the Doepfer A-188-1D. Solid utilitarian delay with a good deal of flexibility.

Love what I've heard so far of the Xaoc Devices Sarajewo, and planning on picking one up when it comes out.

Oh, delays!

My favourites are:
EHX Stereo Memory Man With Hazarai: my go-to delay, good sound, intuitive, versatile.
Benidub Digital Echo: for rhythmically playing around, dub-style.
Strymon Volante: just gorgeous sound!
Digitech Rubberneck: I've got two of them (insane sound machine!), but I need another simple delay for proper ping-pong delays.
Alesis Ineko (the "Phase Delay" preset): try it, and you'll be playing thirds like Jarre in no time!

Cheers,
Bert

TipTop was working on a clone of it a few years back, and appear to have actually created a prototype. Problem is the SAD1024 chips it uses are practically unobtainium these days, especially if you're looking for same-batch (closely matched) pairs. If you can find them (usually as pulls from old guitar pedals), they generally run around US$100 each. I'd give several major organs for that thing.

^ i've posted about it 4 billion times on here so i wont re-link the soundcloud demo yet again - but bartlebooth from here - did a ridiculously inredible Serge patch - with the WAD doing a whole bunch of craziness...was like a violin solo on meth (in the best possible way).

I only listed rack and pedal effects for delay. The Serge WAD is nice and does some delay. Echo, not so much.

The new Lifeforms analog delay seems better suited for echo if that's the aim:

For me..

Strymon El Capistan
Image IDL1000 which I use a lot.
My Unicord EC100 is epic (when it works) but it’s totally worth the constant maintenance for what it can do! And it’s cartridge based as well, which safe the hassle of tape splicing (unless a tape breaks of course!)

Midi verb 2 delays. As mentioned by a previous poster, it just somehow works!

That’s only 4. But that’s what I dig!
Gum is fun, but not on a cat.

My minds an art gallery.

I certainly do but I am biased since I work for Eventide. Happy to answer any questions or direct you to any resources you may want to hear/see.

Rose was designed to sound different. It has a digital heart with analog mixing/filtering/feedback circuitry. The delay is not based on DSP but on variable clock speed resulting in a very smooth, natural sound. It's capable of super clean to very murky. Sounds lush and musical. Again, biased but I do love the sound of it. Lots of great demo videos out on YouTube showing what it's capable of.
