Anyone got experience with the larger Strymon modulation pedal?

In case anyone is interested in the ehx clone theory, be aware that it is very noisy. It does sound pretty nice, but its noise is very noticeable. If I remember correctly, it was even pretty loud in tremolo mode.

Any Boss Dimension DC2 users out there?
Using it mainly on synths.. very subtle - but wonderful.
Since those are going at pretty steep prices, maybe a t.c. pedal is worth to be mentioned - very nice sounding unit as well - yet to be seen at moderate price tags..

The Behringer recreation is almost exact. It is subtle on some sounds and more effected on others. I have two of the reissues. They were like $40.00.

An A/DA Flanger gets some nice super clean chorus and much more.

Ibanez CS9. My only chorus (Besides some KAosspads) and I like it. But it lacks stereo in.

Mono in, stereo out is good for modular :)

yes, but most of my modular patches are stereo already. So The cs9 is a bit limited. But sounds great.

Fair point, most of mine are mono at the minute. So mono-stereo would be great for me at least. Good for on the new PRAGA mixer (in euro) that's coming with mono send and stereo returns.

The Elektorus (based on 1970s string machine type sounds) in 1U rack format has peaked my interest most so far.

if the cra-cra 2nd hand price is a deterrent, Retro-Sonic's CHORUS is a very nice clone; i use it all the time. stereo outputs to 2 amps is absurdly, mega-lush.
...you know it's a great pedal when the alternate vibrato setting on a chorus pedal sounds cooler than the amp vibrato on an original fender twin....

The ZVEX Lo-fi junkie is really pretty sounding. Not at chorus-y obviously as real chorus pedals but it gives the tone a nice wet character with a bit of tail.

I just got a Boss Space Echo RE-20 and have been playing around with it. Seems very middle of the road as far as chorus goes. I really have to play around with it a lot more but it comes well recommended.

Yes! Sooooo good--though not necessarily "dripping wet". It makes everything sound like magic. Guitars and synth pads especially.

i was never much of a chorus guy but then I wanted to sound like warpaint, got a small clone, and after a bit of modding like dry/wet pot and a chorus/vibrato switch, it well never leave my gazey-rig.

And even without the diying def +1.

I'll second the chorus on the Chorus Echo...sounds amazing....

I'm currently looking into the Strymon Ola...all the demos I've heard sounds really impressive.

Agreed! It gets that nice thick sound without the obvious LFO effect. I repaired one for a friend and have been wanting one since.

Not a pedal, but the Korg Polysix ensemble effect is pretty nice too. It is pretty easy to mod so you can run other stuff through it.

I currently use the mobius for chorus on guitar and it's really great but my old moogerfooger totally beats it although honestly the space that it took I just replaced it. I love that drenched sound and especially since you can make it do stuff that no other chorus could do because of the waveform selection.

I absolutely loved it, and I miss it sometimes but the space it took was a bit much especially since I already have a MF-104m

I've considered picking one up, but I also have an MF-104m and space is in short supply. They sound amazing, but chorus isn't something I use super often

The new Minifooger Chorus is out now. Maybe similar sound in a much smaller footprint?

Hijacking this thread...

There are no stereo-in ANALOG chorus pedals, right?
This is technically impossible for some reasons, isn't it?

What are the best digital chorus pedals that have stereo ins and outs?
The Juno-ier the better, of course :)

Thanks!

I guess it's because for true stereo you need two of everything. Analogue BBD chips are relatively pricey, and true stereo analogue chorus is s bit of a niche, so I guess pedal makers don't see a need for them.
You could always use two mono choruses, this could sound quite interesting as the chorus modulation on the 2 channels is unlikely to ever match...
I'm not buying a maths though, not my idea of fun...

It's really the guitar pedal market. Too few people require true stereo so it is not supported. However, a mono-to-stereo effect like the Dimension C has a full, low-voltage version of the Dimension D inside, so it could be modified for true stereo operation.

Another vote for Cluster Flux. I love depth it adds to my mono synths. Oh and it's a beautiful flanger too!
