Consult with long time users like the people here

Here are things I think BEMI should do.

Sell the Easel case empty so we can put 200e modules in
Sell the 218 or similar
Fix the 261e and 259e resolution
Make a 30wls
Reissue the 259 and 258 ,huge analog sound, with the e memory

People like Roman, Mark Verbos, Rick, Alessandro etc know what Buchla owners want.

I am sure Morgan Page had no knowledge of the "Buchla Easel" as he first called it in the FM vid before it was reissued.

I can understand the reasoning for having Deadmouse and Morgan Page on the front of the BEMI web page, it brings in 15- 30 year olds to know about Buchla but most of these EDM fans will not have the cash to purchase 200e systems, maybe Music Easels, and would likely move to euro format to purchase if to purchase at all.

Not at all hating on Page or Deadmouse.

If Bemi could survive with their "sale price" I am sure they would sell way more 200e modules. I had to miss the sale as I had no cash at the time but I do know lots of people who bought modules right then who could only dream of buying these modules.

I tend to agree.
I harbour no ill will to anyone, and Morgan I'm sure is a great guy and very skillful in his area of dance music production. But I did slightly raise an eyebrow when someone clearly just getting to grips with their Easel mentions they've been in dialogue with BEMI over product ideas.

Hate to break it to you guys, but this was bound to happen.

BEMI is after profits. In order to get those, they're going to have to start pandering to idiots.

Idiots suck, but there are more of them than there are of you, and they constantly buy shit they don't need. In order to gain that audience, they need people like deadmow and morgan page to take smiling photos next to things and tell them to buy them.

BEMI just need to bring out the 252e and that mysterious keyboard Don Buclha is working on. The Easel will do wonders on dance music, that is obvious. I will not be surprised to see one on MTV soon. Who cares? The Gypsy Kings did not destroy flamenco or guitar playing. Actually, they might even have helped..

Seems to me that it was something Page said, not BEMI

I think the issue is more a comment by Page that he is giving ideas to Bemi.
I couldnt care less if a Buchla was on TV daily and sold a million more units. Good luck to them.

Lurking I ran across this thread. So Ima play along....

Never heard of him.

He's a DJ AND a producer? Of what, exactly? Presets?

He's an incompetent idiot, based on this video. And he seems completely uninformed about his gear... so he's got THAT join' for him.

"Shows off his amazing Buchla Music Easel"?!?!?!?!?! Fuck if he even knows how to use this!!!!

This guy makes a living making music? He has no idea how to use any of this gear!

And I heard no chops here. Is that intentional? You know... so none of the viewers are intimidated by his keyboard prowess? Neat-o!

So... I went to his page and heard some of his "music".

I have diarrhea that is more musical. Fuck me.

How is this even possible?
I'm not wearing pants.

I think pop "legitimizes" instruments from experimental status to playable instruments in the market that BEMI is going after. Like Moog being "legitimized" by Hooked on Bach and prog rock. I wouldn't doubt being able to order an Easel from Sam Ash or GC if they can get manufacturing and QC much quicker and better.

But I am surprised that they don't feature long time power users like Allessandro Cortini, Charles Cohen, and/or Lyonel B. (I forget the last name, sorry Lyonel), etc. Afterall, I'm sure Deadmaus and Morgan Page both heard something these guys did and thought, "Fuck that is fucking cool, I need to get a Buchla!"

Exactly! Whether BEMI acts on it or not is still unknown. They hear and listen to all of us! In fact, you just gave some very interesting ideas earlier in this thread. I'm sure they are heard. Patience is a virtue. . .and as @ GeneralBigBag said, "Seems to me that ist was something Page said, not BEMI." +1

Extremely successful. I think he's very good in the field he works in. Really NOT my cup of tea at all I have to stress.
I hesitated to start this thread, but I do think it's a little sad that the users who have kept faith with Buchla for the last ten years or so might be ignored in favour of a couple of johnny come lately's with media clout.
I agree with 'GeneralBigBag' in that it might be Morgan Page suggesting products to BEMI as opposed to BEMI asking Page for ideas.
Still, you never know.
But yeah, they could spend more time on this forum, albeit that I'm often at odds with the membership. But I'd have to say the membership here as poured $$$$$ into Buchla and put up with some buggy, long overdue products in the process. And of course the membership have waaay more Buchla experience than Page.

Page probably suggested that BEMI add a Moog filter the Easel.

As is Kanye West. Very "successful".

That does not make him "talented".

He knows what he's doing, but in a genre I have no interest in.
The interesting thing is that BEMI currently have no products in the category Page fans would be interested in. The wannabe EDM/Pop producer is ITB and often using crack plug-ins, not a $4000 monosynth that doesn't do subtractive synthesis well.

Sorry. Based on what I saw in the video posted, he dunno jackshit.

Of course my opinion is tempered by age and experience using most of the gear featured in that shite video.

Again... getting old.

Yeah, there are videos of him producing pop/dance using mostly plug-ins and he seems on top of the situation.
