259e controlled via Silent way

Post by AlexHeld » Fri Feb 28, 2020 2:53 pm

Hi there,

I am currently building a small buchla System (only have a 259e TWG so far) and want to play it via expert sleepers silent via an ES-9.

Anyone who uses Silent way for Buchla? And if so, could you tell what to dial in into the Output matrix for getting the proper 1.2 V/Oct and a Buchla esque pulse?

Thanks guys

if you do the calibration routine in silent way it will figure out the scaling.

for pulse you want the output as high as possible. ES-9 max is at 10v so use that. That may not trigger a pulse input on all modules.

Thank you, but I have heard that the Silent way outputs negative voltage as well when doing the calibration. I asked os about offsetting stuff, but what experiences do you have with Calibrating 200e oscillators?

I am currently building a small 8U Buchla System. Easel Command as a sort of a hub station with a 4U rack (259e, 261e, 292e and 281e)
So far I only have the 259e and i could just use that plus a regular Euro VCA + Filter to play around with. But once the sytem is completed, would Silent way + ES-9 be enough to control those modules? (Excluding the Command easel, since it has V/Oct and Gate Euro ins, but I'm going to be boring and just use midi  )
