The MARF book

Post by maxl0rd » Tue Mar 03, 2020 7:26 pm

Hallo frenz!

In addition to helping with the MARF debugging happening on this forum lately, I have written a small book of patches for Buchla systems that include a 248. It is sort of an extension of the official, original manual that details more sample programming ideas and explains how they can be used in a musical context. It should demystify the big wall of switches and help newcomers to be more creative on it.

You can download the pdf here:

But before I go polluting the world with misinformation, I would like a few people who have systems to review it, try out some of the patches and to make sure that they are understandable and correct. I'd also like to collect a few more patch ideas from the community.

If you're interested in contributing, drop me a PM on here and I will send you a copy to review.
This document is truly awesome. I have learned a lot from exploring it.
Thanks, Max for the effort.

Awesome :goo:
This is not the place I'd imagined it to be.

I'd be glad to help. Always curious to find more ways of using the MARF. PM me if you want another set of eyes. I'm not too shabby at proofreading and editing either.

Hey! Where do you find this book on the MARF that you’re talking about? New to Muff

I actually haven’t published it yet. I should be able to finish testing the patches soon, and then I will post it in this forum for you guys.

Hi all

I've uploaded what I have on this so far, and made it publicly available now. I hope that some of you find it useful.

You can download the pdf version here:
https://github.com/wir35/marf-book/raw/ ... f-book.pdf

This has kind of turned out to be a chunk of work, trying to remember all of the different ways that I have seen the 248 used, documenting them, and then making sure that they aren't missing anything.

If you would like to support this effort, you can hit up my bandcamp site and buy a tape or a download:
https://ghostgrass.bandcamp.com/

Enjoy.
