LEM218/218e discontinued?

Post by Selador » Tue Mar 10, 2020 9:07 am

Hello all!

I'm as excited as the rest here to get my hands on a 208c, and I want to pair with a 218e (hard to find someone willing to part with one) or a LEM218.

And I can't find a LEM218 in stock anywhere (at least in Europe), and Schneider's has it listed as discontinued: https://www.schneidersladen.de/en/buchl ... m-218.html

Is this the case, does anyone know?

I remember hearing somewhere that the 218 had production challenges. I don't know if it's discontinued, but I would wager that Buchla is thinking about ways to improve the design.

Yeah I am not sure if the LEM is completely discontinued or not. My thought anyway is to get the 208c Command Module and pair it with a Sensel Morph with the Thunderbird overlay. I know it wouldn't be exactly the same as a full Easel but it would be only just a bit over half the cost of an Easel which makes it a bit easier to bite at once.

That's not to say I wouldn't eventually get an LEM sometime down the road, especially if they start offering them again.
