Thanks! For scale runs I start with the root note of the chord and jump octaves here and there.

Thanks! I'm a little boring when it comes to melody, in that I pick a minor key and stay in the lines. The main chord/pad is an exception to that, but still pretty straight forward. It's a snapshot of a major7 chord played in a sampler.
