Abstract/ambient, improvisational, inspired by thoughts on Marshall McLuhan's "visual space" vs "acoustic space."

Tyresta - Circles Back Around

Post by Tyresta » Fri Apr 19, 2019 7:01 am

Hi all! I have a new all modular, ambient and drone tape out on Obsolete Staircases.

I recorded it last summer so I unfortunately don't have patch notes. The songs are generative in nature and explore feelings related to grief, loss, and hope.

Stream it here: https://soundcloud.com/tyrestasounds/se ... ack-around

For those interested, this is the eurorack set up that was used to create the music:

First recording! EP: "Modulo" - droney ambient

Post by Strappingsquire » Sun May 05, 2019 3:42 pm

Hi all,

So why not dive into the deep end: So this is my first ever post, and also my first modular recording, and I decided to share here for your ears:

https://soundcloud.com/spectralhours/sets/modulo-2019

I started building my first Eurorack in June, have managed to scrape some decent modules together, and decided the other week I'd hit record

It's ambient, not too drone-y, lots of reverb and wavetable-randomness. Hope you enjoy!

Phaneronaut - Tiny Robots

Post by ugerhard » Wed May 29, 2019 5:04 am

The idea behind "Tiny Robots" was to use only the smallest synths and drums machines in my gear collection. So there are some Volcas on here (Bass, Keys, Beats, Kick, Modular), a PO-12, an IK Uno and a Make Noise 0-Coast, but also some more esoteric gear like the L.E.P Arpopone, L.E.P Multicassa, the KOMA Elektronik Field Kit and Field Kit FX and the Landscape.fm Stereo Field.

You can listen and download for free on Bandcamp (of course, you're welcome to pay as well :-)). It's also available on Spotify, Apple Music et cetera for streaming if that's more your thing.

Slight warning: The tracks are all quite different from each other, some are a bit more experimental, some less so. Nevertheless, this is constructed as an album, there is a kind of over-arching concept behind it. I hope you enjoy it.
