Between Mind and Mental

Post by artokumanto » Fri Nov 22, 2019 3:03 am

Just released my new album - Between Mind and Mental. It's collection of electronic instrumental music with some acoustic elements. This fifth track track is my personal favourite, where I discover soundscapes of my precious OB-6.

I recently uncovered two CD-R releases I did a decade ago, early modular and feedback loop works, whilst rummaging through a cupboard and put them up on Bandcamp. Enjoy!

The Last Ambient Christmas by The Last Ambient Hero

Post by ambienthero » Tue Dec 03, 2019 6:09 am

Hi,
Happy to announce my latest work is now available, The Last Ambient Christmas.
Available digitally and as a super limited CD, it's a Christmas album that's more than a little bit different. You don't have to like Christmas music or even Christmas in general to get something out of this one.

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals.

I am starting a project, called Current b-lectric and here's first album om Spotify named "City". Album was made using eurorack modular synth and Korg MS-20 mini, all three tracks made in one take each, without overdubbing and layered live using external desktop mixer. Enjoy :)

Here is my latest concept album...painting a Dystopian/Floydian world with sound!

I used many different instruments in the making of this including my Modular system, Model D (Behringer), DFAM, Grandmother, etc...

Hope you enjoy!

PS the best way to listen to the album is to jump to the bonus track #10. It has more musical content and gives you that concept album feel to it.

The conclusion, when all has been heard, is:
Fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. (Solomon)

Ok, so double releases! [/s]
[bandcamp width=100% height=120 album=1661142343 size=large bgcol=ffffff linkcol=0687f5 tracklist=false artwork=small]
First my album "Försiktig" that´s been out a while on eilean rec. One of the last albums released on eilean before album #100 which marked the ending of the label. I still have about 20 CDs left out of a edition of 130.

[bandcamp width=100% height=120 album=519134115 size=large bgcol=ffffff linkcol=0687f5 tracklist=false artwork=small]
Then my collaboration with erko, "flocken" that is out on tape. Handprinted risograph cover art. A few copies left there as well.

So we have added a reasonably nice turntable setup to the new synth shop, in order to stock and demo vinyls (and cassettes, honest) that feature synths heavily -- and to help promote synth artists. Our goal is to have an album playing at most times we're open-- so customers walking in can hear the good stuff, and see 'what's playing'-- and of course we will promote the albums that we stock via our webstore and social media from time to time...

Of course, we will 'mine' this thread for artists to reach out to-- but we are very open to hearing from you directly (if you are an artist with published vinyl) AND to hear anyone's suggestions/recommendations/opinions to artists/albums we should look in to

(We did search the forum for some sort of comprehensive synth-heavy vinyl list but no luck-- if it exists here we can't find it)

Please feel free to post here if you want to share your opinion publicly, otherwise please reach out via PM here, or one of our guys at the shop -- chip at synthcube dot com... we'll keep a running list and hopefully be able to put it into some sort of user friendly format

why vinyl? for us, it's in keeping with the look and feel of the shop and the era in which so many synths were developed-- our amp/tape player combo is from the 80s and we splurged a bit on a new SOTA turntable. There are lots of channels for digital music- so we decided to keep it analog.

Well, i‘ve never seen this thread before :bang:

I also have a bandcamp account and i just made a new release on it.

Previous releases:

[symbiosis] - techno, trance, some kind of ambient
[fusion] - a collection of b-side from [symbiosis] and remixes of published tracks
[MATTER VOL.1] - a release dedicated to Folktek‘s Matter II
[time] - newest addition to my page

They are all free if you sign, so you don‘t have to pay.
Give it a listen if you want.

Thanks, Paranormind! Glad you like it! Most of the sounds you hear are created with vintage synths like the Ensoniq ESQ-1 and the Korg MS10, but also the Moog Mother 32.

Very nice! I listened to the first half and love it so far. Good work on the sound design especially and mate... you're so good at improvising!

Thank you! :D

I have practiced piano improvisation for a few years and a lot of the techniques can be translated to the eurorack world. ;)

Hello Wigglers,

Here I have a light album consisting of 11 short pieces that attempt to capture specific moments in time. These aural snapshots can be found here on Bandcamp. This record (as well as a few of my other releases (some which have more ambient leaning, while others concern themselves with pop tendencies)) can also be found on many major streaming platforms for those who are interested.

All best,
Odd Cosmic
