One of the reasons I like a modular synthesizer is that it can hit me in the face with sounds I never planned to make. I was working on a more complex patch, but before I ever got there a slow melody emerged.

This weeks jam is mainly based on a single random baseline I really liked on my eurorack system. Added a simple arpeggio, some chords and drums to spice it up. Sort of a Berlin school / Holden ish track

I have got a new mixer and it creates new routing possibilities. I finally started messing with clouds in stereo mode. Unfortunately I had no time to work on this jam any longer (I think it could do with some heavy drums). But I really like the sort of tuning-orchestra type of sounds.

I keep calling some of my jams "Postrock", even though I haven't touched a guitar in quite a while. (Probably should pick it up again sometimes.) But I m still heavily inspired by the wall of sound principle, drumsamples and slow evolving structures. Electro-post-rock(ish), or something.

Sometimes you try something and it doesn't work out. I that case, just smack some chords on top of it. :cloud:

A while back I started to get into DIY and I build some simple 9v circuits that made sense. Now I converted them to portable little boxes. One is a sequencer that can be switched between having 3 or 8 steps. The other a noisebox with three mixed squarewaves, and three squarewave lfo's. Here is simple techno and noise jam with both of them in action, lots of knob twisting. Everything is clocked by the Korg Volca sample.

Another jam with some melodic analog sequences and drums from Ableton Live. The microbrute takes care of the baseline in this one.

Two simple melodic sequences with different step lengths beating against each other can be interesting for a long time. Add some bass and beats, and voila. Livejam #72

And we go on! :bananaguitar:
I got carried away tweaking a DIY 3step sequencer during a nightly techno jam. The bassline is a bit off, as is the camera focus and lighting.

And we arrived at nr 75!
I am working on a more techno oriented liveset, so I thought I would brake it up a little with a more calm melodic livejam.

Inspired by the Mikrophonie I rigged the inside of my modular case wit a small piezo disk so the whole thing can be used as an experimental drumkit. There are a lot of posiblities I want to explore, but here is a quick jam with some basic piezo fumbeling. To be continued...

A nice wall of sound based around four simple chords on the Plugiator and a steady modular kick. The Microkorg is the distant horn, Microbrute the ever-present dirty base, and the modular the short pulsy melody. All percussion sounds are from ableton.

Another track that might become part of an album I'm working on. I have included the Disting MK4 in my modular case, so its time to mess around mith some samples.

I am experimenting with the Disting mk4's sample playback features. In this self playing patch it is playing a pre-recoded C-tone from the Dixie with some fm, alongside the live Dixie :)

This self playing patch is a sample of a tuning orchestra played by the Disting MK4. Its speed its controlled by a smooth random lfo from peaks, and the audio processed by Clouds an Echo. There are some quiet parts in the beginning but I liked it enough to keep the whole take.

Finally I'm back in the studio with time to work on new tracks. This calm exploration is part of a series of ambient tracks with some slow techno beats, and might become part of an album I am working on.

I am preparing a very compact drone setup for on the road, just a few modules, nothing else. Here is a quick small improvisation with the modules I have mind.

Another run with a compact setup. The Beatstep Pro is sequencing the Modular and the BD808 kick. The volca sample adds some extra drums.

Another ambient / post-techno-ish crossover jam that might become part of an album I am working on.

The Erica synths Black wavetable VCO in action in a compact portable setup. A bit of a long intro here, but I like these session where some ambient drones morph into beats.

Lovely creaking sounds in the intro. A dry version re-enter in the last minute. Some kind of sample, I guess? Nice anyway. I like the melody and the beat too. Cosy stuff.
My first modular track where I used drum modules! There's also a ton of FM cross modulation from the Instruō Cš-L in there and the Metasonix R56 is a big part of the sound. :star:

We also just did a live performance. Just eurorack, a mixer and two nitwits. :hyper: http://tiny.cc/8ndspz
