2 different beasts imo. I don't own an O-coast but wouldn't mind adding it. As for the Mother 32, it's a total bad ass starting with that Moog sound and a patchbay that's a good launch pad into Eurorack utilizing traditional synth concepts. Aside from other functions, it's my go to bass player fo' sho' !

M32 and an O-coast was my gateway into eurorack. They complement each other very well. Knowing what I do now, I'd probably go with the M32 and a Minibrute 2. The O-coast has a high learning curve, but as other's have pointed out, now that there are a lot of youtube videos on it, it's not so bad.
