Frequency Beating as Rhythmic Device

Post by JDRN1973 » Tue May 01, 2018 8:28 am

I'm sure someone has experimented with this. In order to control beating between two sound waves I would think oscillators with very fine control of frequency would be optimal. My Minibrute 2s has tuning controls that are not sufficiently fine for what I'm interested in. Is anyone aware of controls that would provide very fine tuning control within the range of a half step?

Thanks!

You should be able to use like a constant voltage source through an offset-attenuvertor. Use the offset for coarse tuning, and the attenuated constant voltage source to fine tune.

I think cascading a voltage source through a couple of attenuators should let you get very small final voltage changes with wide swings of the voltage source knob.

Thanks! I will try that!

This may be the best rabbit hole ever.
