Movie Score with excessive Moog Model 15 usage

Post by REcDeso12oi » Wed May 20, 2020 11:43 am

Hey Kids,

I just released the soundtrack to a movie I scored primarily with my Moog Model 15. 99% of everything that isn't strings or percussion is that bad boy. For the polyphonic stuff I multitrack'd it, while using a Cotk C960 sequencer as a pitch source and the Moog cp-251 to add some portamento. Also there was heavy use of the OTO BAM and the Overstayer SVC. Almost everything was processed though it too. Like any foley or found sounds, i typical ran through the filter or the mixer with it feeding back into itself for overdrive.

Hope you enjoy! The Moog mostly starts on track 3.. tho it is in track 1 and 2, just not featured as much.

Cheers and I hope everyone is doing ok!

I enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing it with us.
The imaginary 'movie' I partnered it with -in my head- was intense. Couldn't have anything to do with being set up by the title. Rather abrupt ending.

Nice - even without the movie this is good stuff. Any chance that you have got some inspiration out of Bobby Krlic work?
Oh and where can we see/buy/rent the movie?

thanks for the replies! nah not sure if and when the movie will be released. but if it does I'll be sure to update the post!

Oh yea. Love the stuff Bobby Krlic has done, same with Mica Levi. Probably more inspired by their stuff than I'd like to admit.

Cheers

Very evocative. Your score makes me very curious to see the movie as well. I like the main theme you composed. I found that it quickly created a sense of familiarity, especially as the music becomes more tense and agitated - the theme seemed like a buoy keeping me afloat in a troubled sea. Really nice.
