I hope his 5U modules come back into production but im not super optimistic. Especially A series which is what I am. Just not nearly as popular as B series and eurorack has really taken over the game since he's been ill.

The problem with the B series is the white color...
Have you ever seen a custom big euro rack? YIKES! Yes, thats why we are choosing the 5U route with a a standard knob and color scheme, so mixing a proper vintage black moog looking modular wall with a couple of white modules is not appealing to me needless to say.
However I prefer the MOTM size width though.

I think the white looks cool.

I like the white as well.. as said above though.. its a bit like a broken tooth in a wall of black.. blue is great too and silver.. dark red.. :)

The white is awesome looking! :goo: :sb:

But I agree that just one or three looks a little distracting in a sea of black.

With a little effort a Modcan B can be re-paneled to be MU'd or MOTMish black. :hihi:

Mark (Mark11Audio) made some silk screened MU panels for Modcan 55B quantizers years ago:

And I made a FPE black panel for my Modcan 24B Boolean module (yes, I made a few minor label screw ups and hate myself appropriately every time I look at it!   ):

This was posted in the Euro forum on Oct 18:
Hey guys, just wanted to address some of the recent rumours and conjecture surrounding Modcan. I'm one of several people that have been helping out Bruce over the last year or so. We've been working hard to get Modcan modules back in the market. I can say for sure that Quad LFOs are on their way. These are new production and will be available from distributors soon. I know 'soon' is frustratingly vague, but I'm afraid I can't be anymore specific.

The plan is to get other Modcan modules to market as well and the Dual Delay is definitely a priority.

I know that 'official' information about the status of Modcan has been scarce over the last couple of years. Bottom line is that things are happening and more official information is coming soon.
Given that was posted on the euro forum and for the language used, I take this as some limited euro stuff is headed to market too but I won't hold out much hope for 5U modules for the foreseeable future.

hopefully all is well or improving. Those quad LFO Euro are a truly nice module. I also like the white with black lettering on the bigger modules.

I sent modcan an email regarding the CV Record module, and actually got a quick phone call from Bruce. He has been sick, but they are ramping up production.

When asked for a timeline, it sounded like several weeks to a couple more months, but he's working on it.

I asked him if I could post this information here and he agreed.

I also told him, as a fellow Torontonian, I'd be buying the module as soon as it was available.

That's great news!

Were you inquiring about the 5U version or the eurorack?

For what it's worth I had an email from Cynthia few months ago, telling me that Modcan was going to re open "sometime in the futur" (she was talking about the whole thing not only eurorack).

When Bruce was healthy communication (email and phone call) was easy and he always was very helpful.

During the last few years I regularly tried several communication paths (emailing Bruce himself and his brother) and none of them was successful.

I (and probably others as well) need help fixing a module and obviously only Bruce is able to do this.

I deeply hope that he will finally recover continuing to make still one of the best modular systems on this planet.

And now even their website is down, which doesn't give much hope of him coming back... Does anyone have any info?

I just checked, website is working fine for me? Maybe it was going through an update or a server thing...

It's up and running right now though... :despair:

In this eurorack forum thread from last week it's mentioned that Bruce replied to someone and basically said it still might be over two years before even high demand modules are back in production? :waah:
