This is my 5U these days. Need some multiples which I plan to DIY into a new case sometime when I ever get around to making one.

Finally expanded to 88U this weekend so all my orphaned modules (and a couple of new ones) would have a home!

Thanks, poorness. One of these days I may even make some music on it that'll be good enough to let others hear. :)

WHAT IS THAT? It looks to be MOTM format, but also appears to also be big 3-in-1 modules?

That is a Hordijk modular.

Have you ordered it directly from Rob?

Nice setup!

What's the power distribution setup visible on the second shelf from the bottom?

THANKS! :tu:
left (almost not visible) QPS1 Power Supply, which came with a 22 space Dotcom portable basic system. I use this power supply for the dotcom modules and I only have 1 free power cable from the harness.

The visible distro board is a MOTM 960 powered by 1.5A Power One

Looks great. And space for many more modules
What is the sequencer to the left of the 960?
And what is the sequencer below the 960, to the left of the filter bank. Looks like a custom made SympleSEQ, 4 unit wide.

I haven't posted in this thread in awhile (ever?) but made mention of "my modular" in another thread. I think this is patched to the human voice sound I used for The Coventry Carol:

Thanks Steffen :hihi:

The sequencer is my "960duino" - a MIDI sequencer, based on the 960, but using an arduino mega board. I posted a few times about it - search for 960duino - e.g. viewtopic.php?t=113509&highlight= I made it several years ago, thinking I would never be in the position to own the real thing!

It is indeed. The panel was by Ben at Re:Synthesis. It a great fun little sequencer, the circular set-up is really nice.

Today I received the last two modules: a Q107A SVF and a Q127 FFB. With these modules, my system is now full and finished. This stuff has gotten too expensive in the past 5 years - the cost of modules has pretty much doubled due to lousy exchange rates and taxes.

In any case, this is much more than I originally aimed for when I started, nearly 15 years ago, with a dotcom entry level system. There is so much new stuff in the MU world that looks really cool from SSL, Dove, Corsynth, dotcom, STG and others, but I really gotta draw the line here.

I'll be forever grateful for all the makers that made this thing possible: Roger Arrick, Doug Slocum, Phil @ Megaohm, Suit & Tie Guy, Darwin Grosse, Roman Filippov, Ives Usson, Tony Allgood and Krisp1, Moon Modular. Thank you guys.

Wonderful compliment of instruments. What brand of piano is that? Is that considered a spinet? Doesn't that little KARP sound sweet? Also what's next to the Moog 'modules'? A Microbrute?

I Just added a Dotcom Q155 Curver and Q144 Mixer++ to my MU rig and I have now filled all of the spaces. Viola!

IMG_3293.JPG

There are a couple of Dotcom Q147 Distributors and one of two Q130 Clippers that I'll swap out for something else in the neat future, but I'm very happy with this config. Observant wigglers will notice that this isn't actually a 88-space rig - it's 92 spaces. In each 22-space row, there is a section of six widths of MOTM format modules taking up five MU spaces, making each row 23 spaces wide. It's like a free module in each row!

:cloud:

You may notice the lack of hardware sequencers. If I ever need something like a step sequencer I build a patch full of virtual step sequencers in the Nord G2 that I use to control the modular. But I don't do a lot of sequenc-y music. I mostly I use it as a keyboard-controlled synth or I patch up big drone stuff.

Finally all buttoned up and finished!

Well, except for the blank panel on the right, which is keeping things clean pending the availability of a 2u analog delay.

The one on the left stays for inspiration.
