:sb:

Really nice Rich! I lost all my old drum pads (Synare, Syndrum etc..) years ago and I miss them for just what you are doing here. I also sold off a few touch controllers but still have the Makenoise Pressure Points to use if needed. Nothing replaces a good trigger pad for play ability though. Nice patch too.

After seeing this on your channel, I did look into the Harmonaig. Looks like a pretty cool module. I'm not sure if I'd use it often, and surely not enough to run out and start Euro today, but still very cool. Nice, atmospheric video.

Nice demo. In the early 90s I saw Laurie Anderson live. She had drum pads out, each controlling a different sound or sequence, most likely on her Synclavier. I always thought it was a cool way to control a synth and have wanted to use one on my modular.

My first track from quarantine period, all sounds are MU modular +hardware effects (OTO, RML, Axe-Fx) . Sequenced by Vector sequencer.

I hope will release at least one track per week until qurantine ends.

Wow - "Kick-Down" is great! Very mysterious with a pulsing excitement. What is the drone sounds? Was this played all at once or multi-tracked? Good stuff and very "visual" is scope.

Thank you.

It's a multitrack recording because my MU system is more - giant monophonic system than several voices full orchestra.
Drone sounds: I use mod-wheel on midi keys to shift the pitch + long envelopes + OTO Bam (Chorus is on, A lot of added gain -you can hear some distorted tails).

Very nice. Doing a track a week is a good use of quarantine time... Seeing your other comment, I'm like you that my modular is much more a giant monosynth than a real-time-orchestra.

I have started a new project. Quick background: years ago, I studied composition. As I have been building my modular, rework/rearrange some of my “classical” compositions has been at the back of my mind, yet so far I’ve mostly just done silly ditties.

OK, on to the project. As a star, I decided to take apart a composition I did called “Child’s Play”. It is actually 13 miniatures that start simple and get more complicated (You can read more details on the Youtube video I posted). I tried to make the miniatures 20 to 45 seconds, though a couple are over a minute. My idea for the project is to use it as the original was used – as a learning experience, this time figuring out how to arrange, orchestrate and record my older compositions with for/with my modular. I’ve done two pieces using three of the miniatures so far.

The first uses two miniatures in an ABA’ form. This is only 1:17 long. These are from early in the composition, so are simple.

The second uses quartal harmony (if you have no idea, Debussy was famous for quartal). This is only one miniature, but a little longer at 1:30. Yea, still short.

I hope you enjoyed! I hope to do more and may actually do a new thread on the project when I have a few finished.

Twilight "flutes" get really interesting feeling or organic music. Well done!
