mmmmmultiples

Post by tardishead » Mon Jan 06, 2020 12:09 pm

Well I don't know about you guys but nowadays with all the "patch programmable" circuits I have available I am needing a lot more bang for the buck in terms of patchable inputs/outputs and multiples. I decided that cramming in more inputs on a multiples panel is the way forward
I'm going to build some for myself but I wondered if any of you guys would be interested in any of these panels.
For those of you who don't know me I make 5u etched anodised mu panels for Frequency Central and Synthcube and other DIYers.
I am going to prototype all of these so I will post photos in the next few days
Personally I like panels 3 and 4 because I want to get as much function as possible out of a 1u multiple. Price will be £20 per panel

Number two is my choice.
I've made 1U tall 19" panels to go between my cases that give me mults and cabinet interface capability.
If I have water in my ear, is it safe for me to listen to electronic music?

Both 1 and 2 are very nice! How about a Multiple like the Doepfer A-182? That should exist!

As promised here are some prototypes of the panels
They are covered with a clear film for protection in case you're wondering why they are reflective
If anybody needs closer more detailed pics I can do
Let me know if you're interested.

I had a A-182, great module, I would love one of those in MU,

Used it all the time to route triggers ( where I use most of my multiples) and also as mute switches.

Shouldn't be too hard to DIY, especially if you have the panels worked out..

Just in case there is any confusion I merely propose to sell the panels only. I could manufacture them if there was enough interest but at this stage it is unlikely.
Regarding the switch/mute multiples a panel would be easy enough but again manufacturing a module is not my expertise.
I think I completely overestimate how many 5u guys are DIYers like myself. Really there’s not that many it seems

For sure there are more people interested in you panels but not everyone is here at Muffs. Try to post about your panels at these Facebook groups. They are all dedicated to 5U and MU and I'm sure there will be people interested in them.

I can do the manufacturing of the module, switched multiples are fairly easy ( passive and no real PCB needed). Will look at switch dimensions and then send you an email...

Yeh that works. I can build but its the minor details that I am concerned with. What is ok for me and my use might not be for other people. Things like wire dressing etc.
