So... Why all the silence here ? It's WAY too quiet.

Has everyone abandoned 5U and bought Behringer ?

Talk about a niche market! Great work DH - Very creative :sb:

I was wondering about the slowdown here at Muff's too. Not as much casual banter. I'm also to blame as many times I'm thinking "oh, I'll reply" and then just don't.

I miss the Quick Reply window. I tended to reply more often with it.

Oh, and yes.... secret projects abound

I posted in the Mini Sequencer thread but have been mostly lurking and reading. I have been working on a project for over a year and haven’t been able to post videos or music files but I might just let a few see the light of day regardless.

With JLR on hiatus and Rexcoil wandering elsewhere there is at least half the posts gone from this forum right off the bat. :hihi:

I just pulled 3 of my rig's 4 patches and am embarking on a second voyage of module discovery, the first voyage having been when I bought my original 44U system 2-1/2 years ago. (I had so many patch cords involved that I don't even have room for all of them in my holders, which is why you see a bunch stacked on top of the synth.)

OK a little more serious.

I've started a new job assignment one month ago. A lot to learn, so I'm too exhausted to wiggle. However I'm planning some small changes in my modular setup. Trying to get Ben@Re:Synthesis to make me a custom panel. T.b.c.

So far I haven't seen the system 55 in stock. Guess it will first hit the shops in a few month. Tempted? Yes. Will buy: Nope. Believe the modules will cost 100 € on average (so the rumors says) it would be a cheap way to get a Moog 55 clone. But I don't like the eurorack format for different reasons, first of all I find it too small and flimsy. So I rather save up for a Mos-Lab or Synth-Werk clone, though I do not believe this would happen either. Got my big dotcom and that's should do the job.

daveholiday Very cool :lolspew: Can we expect a (X-rated) video demo soon? :miley:

hsosdrum Nice setup. What are the modules with green leds? One of the new synthesizers.com module?

Thanks! They're Dotcom Q179 Envelope++'s. Their multicolor LEDs are annoyingly bright (MUCH brighter than the LEDs on any other Dotcom module that I own), so when I'm not using them I leave them in switch positions that prevent them from continually cycling through the colors. For me the green is the least bothersome color.

I've been working on a little module which I actually just completed today. :goo:

It's built into my Q960 sequencer and is based on the 4017 decade counter. It takes it's clock from my COTK C961S (which takes it's clock from the Q960) and gives trigger out on every step, or on every 2nd, 3rd or 4th step. They are selectable via a rotary and I also added jacks so the Q962 can do it automatically.

I've also taken the 960's stage 1 output to reset it (via a toggle switch) which is interesting when, say I have 8 stages running but my cct is set to trigger every 3rd..!

Cheers
Tom

Yeah, the official data may be perpetually seized by the review committee, but I roughly kinda approximately do 98.4% more lurking here than posting. Is it because I am a creeper at heart? Perhaps. I can post a shred more if for no other reason than peeps know that one additional creature is engaging with such nerdware.

Juices are bubbling in my creative cauldron as well.

Vague studies which we conveniently neglect to reference and conducted with entirely defective methodology indicate that 51.2% of experts agree with that statement.

(The low figure may or may not account for their obstinacy to admit that they often just make shit up.)

Also, the greek letter mu is often used to represent averages, demonstrating once more the relation between 5U-format users and their love for statistics.
