The living Juggernaut (VCOs)

Post by Faustgeist » Thu Mar 19, 2020 3:41 pm

Born from a casual conversation a year back, DSLMan shipped this beast a week ago and it arrived today! Just in time for me to focus on modular for the next two weeks. :nana:

A Jurgen Haibles Living VCO on a *Random*Sources* PCB with additions by Patrick. 8U in MOTM, phew.

Well done man!

Wow, that's huge! And I was thinking my 4U version was big...

So can you elaborate a little bit. What is the special thing in this awesome looking 3xOSC/VCA/Mixer beast?

I have always admired your designs Sduck, and that Living VCO is no exception. Nice!

Sbuge, I will let the creator of this module answer your question. A good read about the Jurgen Haible Living VCO :

A fun VCO study :

Not many videos out there, perhaps I should add to the mix...

You should make a video! I've been planning one for years, but my youtube channel seems to be still mostly on hiatus. Although it's shown signs of life recently... hmmmm.

Its not the size that matters, it is how you use it!

At least that is what I keep telling my wife when she comments about the size of Fausgeist's modular rig compared to mine....
It is all shits and giggles,

Yes, definitely more videos of the LVCO! I have the pcb but am lacking inspiration to build it (and I’m also frightened by the extensive wiring it will require).

Beautiful and neat build by DSLman :hail:

YALL THINK THATS THE JUGGERNAUT?!?!?! TRY 6 VCOS in 8MU with all the goodies.

I designed the panel with a little help from Jason at FSFX and a few others- sorry if I’ve left anyone out. The idea using Synthi style Verniers for VCO Tuning and Cliff K1C knobs for the rest.

-edit- DSLman did give me some maaaajor advice on this and what’s going to work/what won’t, but once this focus-19 pandemic is done, the design is going straight to panel.

I have an original board of that sitting somewhere. I hope I some day find the time to build it....
