Club of the knobs 901?

Post by rg70 » Sun Sep 27, 2020 8:56 pm

Hello,I can't seem to find a picture of the 901 oscillator from COTK when I searched on the net.I just want to compare that to other 901 clones as I know there is some slight differences in layout. Can someone provide a link if they have it,or send a picture of theirs? On COTK website, I see the 901A,B and C but not the 901.While I'm here,Can someone offer some insight on whether to get the 901C or not?
Thanks in advance.
Rich

Are you sure COTK actually builds and sells the 901?

the SW and newer ML versions are exact clones from slightly different years.. '64' & 69' ? ...cotk use lesser parts apparently(mentioned in detail in other threads here).. (on other modules at least) their 921 do sound good though. the COTK 901 can be found here http://www.cluboftheknobs.com/modules.html

Someone forwarded a link to the COTK 901 page (their site has it listed, but no link to the page). But it is just a picture of the front panel with general info, no internal details:

I don't think the OP is asking about the A/B (master/slave) versions, I think he is asking about the original 901 (with no alpha character).

Looks like this:

yep.. my usual scan reading.. I saw Abb written :)
I dont do COTK out of pricipal these days..

but the SW is deffo great and the ML(not sure if seb changed the full 901(at the time he updated his ABBB) ..or if it was originally exact on release..or did nothing ) :)

on the "C" module when I looked into it way back when.. it seems to be just a volume gain to match the 10v .com type levels.. I wouldnt bother unless you want a whole set and a similar looking module.. I would get a Q114 which has a lot of uses/options..

Anyone know the depth of the MosLab 901A/B? They look pretty deep and I've got dotcom portables so max depth is 5.25" (133m). Had to rule out the SW 901 combo for that reason as they're just over 7" (180mm).

seb likes a standoff and a big board.. so its unlikely.. I have ML 921s.. not the new 901s though

could you use longer standoff posts and have the circuit board parallel?
