5U ssm2040 (SSI2140) filter options

So now that these things are out in the wild, who should we poke to get one of these for 5U? My initial thought was Pablo (Corsynth) as the layout an implementation should be similar to his excellent 2044 offering!

The MOTM is is not an actual 2040, but a general OTA that sounds similar. I used to have one, whilst they are rather nice, they were not the same.

"Based on the SSM2040 Filter" is how they were sold at the start..and to this day..
it was all "prophet 5 filter " this and that.. I'm not one to believe such lines
like behringers "based on exact curcuitry from the 70;s and 80's" pack of marketing..

still got my old one and a cat SRM II..

Thanks for thinking about me for this project but I'm afraid that I will not do it. As other people have pointed out the SSM2040 is an OTA filter and despite it could have a different sound I think that it will be very close sonically to the C101. I will be adding more filters to the corsynth catalog but I will be looking for something that complement what it's already available ( C101 and C110).

You could ask Electro-Smith, they already do a number of multi format smd submodules based on different chips. Maybe they'll add this one.

I thought the MOTM 440 was a discrete circuit based on the SSM2040? It did not have an SSM chip inside. (At the time they were rare.) Designed by Jurgen Haible.

Sure sounds GREAT though.

It’s easy to build the MOTM440 in MU format.
I can build some if someone wants them.
