ClockBox Changes
Look forward to it very much. Wondering whether to sell the quad Divider and pick up a Dual or 2, slightly different functionality and more divisions and ratios on the quad so probably no point apart from space considerations..
Are you still building towards a clock box or has it evolved into a wider picture Tom?

Looking like a clock box with more choices of smaller footprint component parts for a greater degree of personalised configurations. Like it a lot!

Yes, generally wider picture - though I still need the dedicated clock (dropped the dual-clock idea).
But I would still like to get to the point where I can have a selection of suggested configurations for various applications - SynthVoice started that off. Other areas would be Expander, Clocking, Audio-processing - making some progress slowly on all fronts but it probably feels a bit all over the place at present!

So would the joystick and bbv go in the 'expander' category while the ddsr, QDiv, dual divide, logic and diode director are clocking?BugBrand wrote:Yes, generally wider picture - though I still need the dedicated clock (dropped the dual-clock idea).

Audio-processing has me very excited

Yes! Wildcard frame should also contain a fruit machine style rotating display that randomly stops on different combinations of CV and gate outputs. Or Oscillator waveforms.DickMarker wrote:
Joystick = wildcard
Or a theremin style CV antenna.

I wouldn't turn down that dual clock at all; I reckon if I wanted a cut-down version, then a simple pulse source on the left as a master clock and a fully-featured clock on the right (for a 3 fu module?) would strike a reasonable compromise and be way, way more useful for clocking duties than the VC Timegen Clock on my Gator, eg.chrisdermo wrote:Dual Clock - What's missing for you? A clock with both straight and pwm outs to allow for swing seems totally necessary. v/oct CV response too as that allows tempo changes at precise division/multiplication via a keyboard or sequencer/quantizer. I don't know that I'd *need* two clocks along with all the support modules![]()
Your comments w/r/t the Binary Block and DDSR combo are intriguing...

After having a couple live sets take some turns because of failing external clock sources ... I've been thinking about a dedicated clock module for the bug that includes a tap tempo function. I'm completely ignorant to what this might involve but it would be cool to be able to manually control/inject tempo changes on the fly

Tap-tempo is probably not possible direct from me, sorry.
While I do still ponder on a dedicated clock module, I tend to use external devices for more regular clocking - things that can do tap-tempo or easily slave to a master MIDI clock.
Saying that, a clock module with sync input should be fine to slave to whatever external master clock you have.
PS - Chris - strange with the new S&H proto, the osc part, though unchanged, is acting up when it worked great in the previous proto.. frustrationary!

Funny cause 4 days ago I made a video about the TAP tempo function on Grilles, showing it syncing a sample on Radio Music, but then I deleted it, not happy with the video qualityBugBrand wrote:Tap-tempo is probably not possible direct from me, sorry.

I might make one on the smartphone, so I don't need to worry about quality like I do.
EDIT : see post here from Thu Nov 28, 2019.

No apologies necessary! I figured it was not worth the hassle and it's really only my problem with being finicky about external clock sources and having them fail on me.BugBrand wrote:Tap-tempo is probably not possible direct from me, sorry
I'm much more interested in this S/H anyways! Also should probably just check out Grilles to fix my problems.
