Re: Penrose Possibles (Open Source Sonic Potions Quantizer)
Any updates on the Penrose? Is working well for everyone?
I have recently purchased a frame with a Chirper, LPG and DRM2. I am thinking that I might pull the reds out of the frame and add some blues to supplement my Serge (some utilities mostly but do want an Orgone Accumulator and Radio Music).

I'll have to check tomorrow if I actually have any board stock left - I have a feeling the first run ran out already.
All used the latest Float32 firmware - haven't heard of any problems (but do please report any issues!)
Give Robert/Batchas a shout ASAP if you want any of his modules - I have a feeling there aren't many left of those either.
And, yes, give me a shout direct to discuss possibilities!

those quantizers are everything I dreamed they would be. One thing maybe Tom or others can confirm -- it seems like there is a very quick slew between pitches. Not sure if that is coming from the quantizer as it changes, or if it's in the nature of the VCOs? In any case, they work great for me.

Yeah, I think there is a very slight slew (seem to remember there might have been similar on the old Barton Quant from the Old Blues) - I guess it is processing time.
PS - just checked, still got boards for a few more from this first run.

Great module ! Here, the voices are from Scrotum Lab's Orgone Accumulator & Tresses (MI Braids). The melodies are provided by Dual Benjolin in Modcan format, quantised by the Penrose. The PWM output from OA goes through CoFilter.

For variety, I'm adding this Penrose example which has a different feel from the previous one. This is 4:30 of leisurely free running background, mostly Chirper chatter. The "bass line" pitches come from the Penrose which quantizes a DDSR D/A and is triggered by Grille's first trigger output.
SelfRunning2
Later version. Had to simplify the voice, now just SVCO and LPG (the newer kind). SelfRunning4
Bottom line: The Penrose is great but this patch was not very satisfying so I'm moving on to something else.
