Old Blues in New Frames
I know some people here are using old modules in the same frames and new modules. Have any of you had luck doing so with these?

For some reason, I thought there was a slew/lag processor among the old BugBrand modules, but perhaps I'm remembering that wrong.

Re: Old Blues in New Frames
I use all of those in the new frames. But! I have never used them in the old so whether they behave differently or not is another question.... and Tom does not recommend using them that way around at all.
exception is the PRC2B which I don’t have, but is right at the top of my want list, haven’t ever seen one go for sale anywhere!

Re: Old Blues in New Frames
Old blues will work in new frames IF THEY PHYSICALLY FIT but they might not work optimally - I have not tried everything (nor will I!) and stick with the clear message of use old frames for old blues and new frames for new designs.
You might not notice anything with more control focused designs but precision designs such as VCOs you will - old ones didn't tend to have voltage references, for example.
I also personally wish for old systems to be kept together for what they are. I am slowly working towards updating old designs so that the current range covers & exceeds the old, while also tying in circuit level improvements.

Re: Old Blues in New Frames
I would also note that I find the newer dual envelope modules to have a much better response to CV control of the attack and decay than the old ENV1 I have. And generally speaking, the newer versions of things like filters, oscillators and even the LPGs are much more pleasing to the ear IMHO and to control/play than the older ones. They really do feel like a much more refined and sophisticated system to me.syncretism wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 3:26 pmI know some people here are using old modules in the same frames and new modules.
