PEQ2

Post by BugBrand » Thu May 14, 2020 4:53 am

Moving this from the old PEQ thread..

Pic from yesterday:::

2 x PEQ2 (proto) + SComp

Yes, the PEQ2 is a bit different from the original PEQ but still mono and purely manual (no CV).
It now has shelving high & low filters and two mid bands (which have variable width).
I think it is about ready to enter production.

Here's a quick play from last night, processing an old loop - you can see it is quite transformative!
(I'd not really liked the 2 x PEQ setup when I tried it some years back but this seems nice)

Cool little channel strip with two of these and the compress! Pretty attractive for a stereo bus. I would really love to see voltage control on a nice EQ .. but maybe its just not the tool for me :) some nice things going on with the variable bands there. Cool revision Tom.

Yeah... you know I've wondered A LOT about EQ ideas..
Also kind of want a 2FW MonoComp to go along with a single PEQ in 5FW..

I love the 2xMK1 as a stereo tool - literally everything that I've done has been through them. Interested in these too, though not sure I'm looking for anything to replace my MK1.

The thing I'm most interested in (and it's probably a minefield hardware wise) is dynamic EQ. Anyhow, congrats on the new one, looks win.

Do you have a price point in mind? Is this a finished revision?

Will this be unbalanced in > balanced out, like the last one? I find that convenient for going modular > soundcard.
