Binary Block Voltage
Binary Block Voltage
I don't see a thread dedicated to the binary block voltage. I am interested in maybe adding it as my next module, but only sort of understand how it works. Curious if any users can share tips or patches that you've used it on?

Re: Binary Block Voltage
Okay, so there's 8 knobs for setting values and 3 gates, with corresponding switches, to select which one of those 8 voltages (one at a time) becomes the output. 2x2x2=8. The switches (Hi/Lo/Ext) are there to override the gate inputs. Set them to Ext to use the gate inputs. The knobs have markings (like 001) to indicate which combination of the three gates (or switches) selects them. Essentially it's a very basic 1x8 sequencer where instead of a clocked counter picking the stage, you use the three gate signals. Try putting three slow LFOs in there.

Thanks for this thread. Would anyone mind sharing how they patch it? Tom, would love a video like the one you made for the DDSR.

No promises but... will try to do something sometime...
Re: Binary Block Voltage
I did a very rough video - not sure I even want to share such a shonky one! - so I put it as unlisted..

Nice showcase - I’m looking at picking up those 4 (BBV, Logic, Dual Divide, Diode) in the nearish future.

Re: Binary Block Voltage
I found the demo-vid very informative and interesting Tom

Re: Binary Block Voltage
I finally updated the BBV listing to show the updated knobs - which I can always provide to people who had an early one.
Funny how I'd kind of sidelined the design previously - I think the jarring knob choice was part of that. Good number of requests for them now so I'd best get some more made.
Thanks Trond!
By the way, I made the video public rather than unlisted - why or why not... at least I got a vid up & quite promptly

Re: Binary Block Voltage
Enjoyed that Tom, that certainly got the brain cells working and I gained a few ideas to try out. Thank you.
