The only module I regret removing is the spring tanker. Jealous of that top row!

wow that does look fun

hope everyone is staying safe
Re: Show us your Bugbrand Set up
Thanks Kosta!
Chris - the spring is the cherry on top I guess! Not as flexible as a good digital reverb IMO but adds depth and character and is an interesting sound source in it's own right... hope you find another soon if you're looking
triangle - the matrix and DDSR would play well with your other gear as well (well being mindful of the 10v range of DDSR), would be a nice frame with some space left for a few smaller blocks. The system is as fun as it looks

Battery-eating bugs then and now (although the decade-older one is newer to me). A PTDelay or a modular frame or two are maybe in my future...

Nice! They do really look good together. I’m sure they sound good together tooleftbracket wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 7:48 amBattery-eating bugs then and now (although the decade-older one is newer to me). A PTDelay or a modular frame or two are maybe in my future...

Re: Show us your Bugbrand Set up
Anyone have recommendations for case builders for Bugbrand? Looking to have two rows in the bottom and two rows up top and would love to get a portable case that hinges shut.
Re: Show us your Bugbrand Set up
Happy to share drawings / dimensions - if there's any chance of open-sourcing any design that'd be really fantastic!
The 2Frame units would likely be a good starting point - pair of those would make something nice.
(like my Cheekies, only betterer! There's some details of my shonky 2x2 travel jig in the thread..)

I scaled back A LOT recently. This is where I ended up, good balance of human control and self perpetuating options, and nice sound sculpting and rhythm generation.

Looks really fun Chris!
What's the (DIY?) module in the middle?
+ How is the control boat powered exactly?

The DIY is 2 MENG qi dual passive lo pass gates (so 4 lpgs).
Control boat is powered by 1a 12v wall wart with a splitter. Fun setup! Nice to really get stuck in to use the looping envelopes as oscillators again, especially using a joystick to CV the attack and release times. Just looking to swap out the bugcrusher for a noisecrusher or its contemporary counterpart if Tom makes one.

Still after that elusive noisecrusher! That control skiff would be a great standalone device

Re: Show us your Bugbrand Set up
today is a very exciting day!! a certain package arrived from Bristol...
BEHOLD my very first modular anything: DDSR and DRM2 in an 11FW frame.
Seen here on my computer/drawing desk, entangled with my Double Knot v2 after my first few hours of exploratory wiggling. The only potential frustration I've noticed so far is that the CV voltage range for the lorre-mill stuff is different, but I'm sure I will figure out a solution (more VCAs lol) as I spend time with the
stuff.

Kudos to Tom for the thorough communication through the whole process.

Neat little system! Would love to hear some clips. The DK should clock the DDSR nicely though right?athletic_beetle wrote: ↑Tue Nov 24, 2020 8:04 pmtoday is a very exciting day!! a certain package arrived from Bristol...

I used to use diodes (I believe the technical term is half wave rectifier?) To feed bug oscillators to my DK without damaging it.

Yes, from what I've heard, DK doesn't like negative voltages.
[Diode director might, therefore, be a useful module for the final space - https://www.bugbrand.co.uk/product/diode-director/]

Re: Show us your Bugbrand Set up
congrats! looks like a very fun system. I too got "into" modular through very in depth and helpful communication with tom andathletic_beetle wrote: ↑Tue Nov 24, 2020 8:04 pmtoday is a very exciting day!! a certain package arrived from Bristol...

in any case - cheers to your sonic exploring!

Re: Show us your Bugbrand Set up
the diode director looks interesting, i also wonder about using it in conjunction with something like the DC mixer, to create some offset. or maybe there's a more elegant way. either way thanks for the encouragement everyone i'm so excited to spend time learning about this stuff!
Re: Show us your Bugbrand Set up
New proud owner of a
system here
After a 5+ years long hiatus from music making and general burnt-outness on Euro, I was lucky enough to pick up this beautiful instrument here on MW this week from sir ruff (which was an amazingly smooth transaction). Not pictured is the 6x4 matrix mixer which will be installed in a fourth frame.
I used to make a lot of drone music and will for sure make some more (first recording already done!). For more rhythmic projects I’ll be integrating with a Machinedrum / cv.ocd, but that new SQ-64 caught my eye as well.
