Patch points?

Seen very little mention of the desktop anywhere. Personally think they've missed a trick not making it semi patchable BWTHDIK
I'm not buying a maths though, not my idea of fun...

The keyboard being minikeys did not enough for mi, but the module is just right... iNeed, and could use another MIDI to CV + Gate woice.

Was thinking the same thing.

Surely there is a modder out there ?
James Joyce was a synthesizer, trying to bring in as much as he could. I am an analyzer, trying to leave out as much as I can.

My thought was just the Price difference between 2 Odyssey Desctop Units and a Second Hand TTSH :hmm:
Yes the TTSH has also a spring Reverb and Patch Points but for the saved Funds i can posibly buy a Vintage AKG BX -5 or something :guinness:

I haven't had a single issue with the minikeys on this board.

It's one of my favorite synths, and I've got lots to choose from.

Yea , I've got my eye on the Rev 1 module too.
$599 hard to pass up. Especially with the 3 filter modes, and VCA drive circuit.

Shipping 10-10-16, apparently.

Just love the Odyssey interface with the color coded sliders.

This almost makes me want to buy a second one, if it weren't for the facts that a) my gear fund is presently running on empty and, b) I want to wait to see what else Korg has up their sleeve.

How this compare for "experimental" ie noise flexibility with the MS-20M? I posted a question a bit earlier, but didn't see this thread until now. Seems a lot of you know this machine.

How is it for rapid timbral shifts and noise/sound work, outside of the band keyboard work paradigm?

An Oddy is easily one of the most experimental machines available.

They can produce sounds and weird modulations that nothing barring a full modular can touch. Well except for maybe Buchla stuff, or gear oriented in that direction....but that is in another entire realm of gear pricing.

Just going through the manual opens your eyes to the depth of this machine.

The choice of three filters really opens it up, though i have to say, the Mark I 12 dB is my favorite, by far.

The sliders make it super fast to switch sounds, timbres, whatever. Also has an octave range switch to get even more.

The MS-20 is also great.

Truth told, i would by an MS-20 mini and an Arp Oddy, which is about the same price you can score an MS-20m for.

The original noisy filter is the one you want on the MS-20 anyways, and PWM is the easiest mod in the world, if you want it. A jack on the case and two wires.

Then again if you have a 20m already, that's great!

JayEm, your saying the odyssey has envelope follower? Or are you referring to ms 20 esp?

Bought the Korg Arp Odyssey and answered my own question about the env follower. No, of course it doesn't have that, I didn't think so, but the audio input does a fine job providing for filtering and applying the synths envelopes. So effective in fact I think I could live without the follower, and trigger functions from the audio input.

Otherwise, I am completely blown away by the Odyssey, and can't hardly believe some of the sounds and modulations it provides. And to me the ergonomics and playability of the whole synth panel is awesome, and really goes a long way in removing any longing I have for the Buchla Music Easel. Speaking of which, as both the Easel and the Odyssey appeared in the same year (I think), and both were aiming at a live performance synth, I wonder if their was some influence one way or the other on the designers (who were both former NASA engineers if I'm not mistaken).

Really glad Korg chose to produce this reissue.

misterbunty...that's a bastl microgranny. I can use it to bring in samples or as a kind of looper like in the picture. And the sound can be granulated, sped up and so forth. It seems the closest thing to the make moise phonogene I had when I had a modular.

Yep! Though it's purely size / vintage hunters they're going after with this one - I believe the sound won't differ from the existing arp offerings all that much.

Thanks, Dean. I wasn't even aware of these. May have to stave off purchase of a full-sized Karp Ody.

Sounds like a nice deal for UK customers... only.

Don't think US customers have such a deal. I guess too many Amurricans bought SQ-1s already

Does the sq-1 deal include the desktop version ? Couldn't find info on the claims form. Assuming its just the key version.

NM, found the ads, too bad its not included on the DT mrk3.
