I've been really enjoying my Streichfett.

One thing I've not yet figured out is getting the MIDI out port to send MIDI that it's receiving from it's MIDI in. So far I haven't found anything in the manual much about this... anyone have any luck? I can split my midi otherwise, but was hoping to simplify.

I haven't read the manual but it's generally called "midi through"

The Streichfett doesn't have MIDI Thru. I use one of these to solve that problem:

Those things are stupidly simple and utterly effective. If you have three or more pieces of MIDI equipped gear you owe it to yourself to buy one.

This maybe a stupid question but why does the Streichfett have midi out? What could one use it for?
Midi thru seems like it would be a more useful feature.

I've not yet figured out a great use for its MIDI out port, but I also haven't tried to record knob twiddling yet either.

Ultimately I solved my dilemmas by just routing MIDI through USB and reorganizing how I chained a few other devices together.

It's a delicious little synth.

They now have a more complete manual on their website. Mine shipped with a foldout sheet. There is also a firmware update and a patch file.

I picked one up today. Holy crap this thing sounds nice. Epic pads and soundscapes with almost no effort. I wish some of the parameters were separated instead of being put behind one knob (eg: phaser depth and speed) but that's just the modular nerd in me speaking. There's almost no wrong settings or "sweet spots" on this beast, just beautiful ambient glory.

Here's a very quick demo I recorded for a friend. Streichfett + Eventide Space

I could probably play that all day.

Definitely!

And at slightly less than 200 quids, this thing is an absolute steal, man!

Ordered one today! Can't wait for this weekend.

Before I send mine back and get a replacement....

It sounds really cool, but the left channel doesn't work at all. Am I just doing something dumb? Missing a setting or is it just faulty? Swapped cables. No luck.

Yo, fellow wigglers!

Just got my Streichfett this Saturday (i.e. two days ago) but it didn't have a User Manual in the box, just two versions of the Quick Start Guide (one in German).

I know that there's a PDF version of the User Manual available online ('cause I read it thoroughly before buying the synth), but I just wanna know, is a User Manual usually included in the box?

Mine did not have the full manual either. Not that you really need it.

Lusted after it for months! Bought it as soon as it came out and tried really hard to love it. Tried using it on every track I worked on but could never get a good fit. Finally sold it a few weeks back. Really, really wanted to love it but just could not appreciate the sound. There were some really sweet spots but overall, the sound was too harsh for me. Even after the firmware update, it sounded to me like it was distorting and not in a good way. The first Waldorf synth I haven't fallen in love with and the one I had the highest hopes for.

That mirrors exactly what will happen if I buy one ... I think. Can only speculate without owning one and trying it but from the video demos it seems like I should get one but I know it won't make it's way into production with the sound it has. :despair:

Looks like there's a newer firmware now that addresses the clipping and sound quality issues.

Have a Streichfett. No substitute for my old Trident, but what it does, it does well, in a digital sort of way :hihi:

the Demo above is distorting too.
i wonder if its this or was it the uploading to YT?

............i´m still ever lusting for a streichfett, but that distortion would be a dealbreaker.
any more news on that "Distortion Issue" ?..........i couldn´t find any new Streichfett OS updates when i surched a few days back........
