#List of rare and freaky synths and how you'd value them**
good day folks,

I wonder the same thing regarding pricing. For instance the Jomox Sunsyn is selling for almost 8000 US dollars. I would never pay that much, and at most I'd do 4000, but it is what it is. Same thing for the Fizmo Rack, way over priced, but I guess in both cases your paying for the rarity of the things.
What a puny plan...

In the rare Cwejman department:
I recently saw a photo of a Cwejman S2. It's like an S1, but with no patching at least on the front. Apparently under 50 of these were made.
I own an S1 MK1 (serial #20). My understanding is that less than 50 were ever made of these.
A few more to add:
Anyware SEMtex
MacBeth M5

wow, $8.000 for a susnsyn. i'll translate that to €7.500 as current max. the cheapest i saw one go on ebay was €2.500 a few years back. i guess we won't see it that cheap again.
vedicspaceprogram
thanks for that info. the current anyware moodulator looks nice to me.

thanks for that info.
i used to own the gotharman demoon, redsound elevata, rob hordijk blippo.
i currently own the rozzbox v2, gotharman little deformer, chimera bc16.
wtb in 2016 ekdahl polygamist.

weirdness this is about. the gotharman little deformer is in production too, but as with the plumbutter it is highly unlikely that there will ever be more than 500 of these built, since they are handbuilt and sold in very small quantities/batches.
can you provide further information regarding the plumbutter v1?

Funny - I only just rechristened the old bug-modular to 'Old Blue' a few days ago, so this is the first public pickup.
2009-2013 - roughly 50-80 systems put together (rarely sold as complete setups direct from me). Who knows how many exist now as there's always been a bit of buy&sell of modules.
I don't think I've ever made more than 500 of anything..

There are around a dozen or so of the S2, certainly not 50 of them. The patch points are at the back. It's a different synth than the S1 and, nomen est omen, the successor of the S1, not the other way around.vedicspaceprogram wrote:In the rare Cwejman department:

On the other hand, there must be more than 50 of the MK2 S1.

Peavey Paradox - supposedly only 3 or 4 units made, never went into production. One came up on Ebay a few years ago, I can't remember how much it sold for. It wasn't a lot, maybe around $1,000.
Here are some pics.

I always wanted a Synare PS-1

The really rare one was the huge thing that preceded the plumbutter 1. I think only a handful were made....wish I could remember the name, but can't right now. (ah - roolz gewei, I think)ghee hgt wrote:windspirit

EMS Synthi 100, 31 units made.
Current price 35-50k ?
Great synth of course, a lot of infinities of possibilities but I rather play several small Synthis together than the 100, whose sound and behaviour are less wild and unpredicable (buffers, "enhanced" circuits, etc...).
It's not exactly designed for live use and direct patching, or very comfortable to play because of its size.
It also has separate matrices for audio and CV, unlike the Synthi A and VCS3 where you can patch anything to anything easily.
The Synthi E was also made in small quantity and has an interesting own character, despite way less versatile than a Synthi A.
Sells for too much today, I wouldn't give more than 2k for one in perfect condition, and it's already very expensive.
All units have an unplayable touchkeyboard because contacts are made of fax paper stripes, which got loose a long time ago.

I'm not a synths dealer and I'm not aware of an inexpensive Synthi secret market, please don't ask me if I know one for sale.
I don't offer support of any kind to people attempting to build clones of EMS equipment.
