Still one of the best things I've heard out of this synth. Beautiful piece
Thanks!

Was supposed to be the first piece in an album about my favourite composer, William Lawes. He was a Lyra player in the 17th century (Lyra viol rather than Lyra 8):

http://www.earlymusicworld.com/william-lawes

But I got sidetracked - it's still on my to do list...
I look forward to it. I remember David Tibet mentioning and being full of praise for Lawes when he was interviewed for Wire magazine (Invisible jukebox), however I am unfamiliar with his compositions. Will get listening this week!

I've had my Lyra for just over a year and still fascinated by it. It's great to see so many incredible pieces made with it being shared here. Looking forward to it's sibling the Pulsar arriving soon, but decided to post a couple of early recordings I made with the Lyra.

Hope you enjoy, them.

My new all-Lyra album is released today - "Lyra 8 Drones - 'Just a Memory'". Again the Lyra 8 was the only instrument used in the making of this album, with a bit of reverb (Boss RV-500). The album was mastered by Nathan Moody at ObsidianSound.

The album is available to stream and download at bandcamp http://jbowman.bandcamp.com/releases

A promo video featuring the title track from the album is here:

Recording the album was a therepeutic experience, hopefully the listening experiece is similar.
Is the link broken on your Bandcamp? This album was great and I wanted to grab a copy.

Thanks, it's back up temporarily. If you do pick it up it's worth downloading it as I am likely to take it down again.

Can anyone recommend a good replacement power supply (US) for the Lyra? Thanks.

Some real nice sounds in this thread :)

I recently got the Lyra-4. After a few sessions I decided to try using hand moisturizer before a session.

It made the sensors/contacts more responsive which also increased my enjoyment of the instrument .

First heard of this approach after reading about the 'all flesh' patch cables. I don't have those though.

I'll take this opportunity to share a piece I made just recently using the lyra 8 and a field recording made in old barn on a windy night. The lyra can sound so crazy sometimes. This time it invoked the bagpipes. ENjoy!

Hey j bowman, just wanted to let you know that this was (still is) one my favorite albums on Bandcamp last month. I don't know what stereo effects you did, but the whole thing swirls around me while I'm showering. Its mesmerizing and magnificent!

Thanks! The stereo was quite simple - I performed each track twice as identically as possible - first Left Chanel then Right Chanel, then gave it all to Nathan Moody to make it sound excellent ;-)

Looks like Perfect Circuit is now taking pre-orders for the Lyra-8 in pink and orange colors, same price as the black, white and green versions: Soma Laboratory Products

I couldn’t resist the green. Switched up the knobs too.

That looks nice.
What kind of stand are you using in this picture, and how has it been working out for you so far?

It’s the Gibraltar Gem Stand. I have 3 of them and have used them for years to hold all kinds of synths, mixers, euro cases, etc. Super adjustable and solid.
