the pin header thing is kind of baffling to me.
Well, I get and use pin header stuff. But It's just kind of strange to me that there is suddenly a lot of devices like this, when people seem barely able to grok eurorack.

It's kind of fun in a a get your hands dirty, lo fi way though.

long live the pin header revolution! This cheap format allows for patch panels and modular interfaces to be implemented into small inexpensive devices. These new devices are finally cheap enough to get people into synths that would have never taken the plunge otherwise! I do not need to go into just how crazy expensive other formats can get with just the cables and jacks alone.. I have always felt that this overwhelming cost factor was interfering with the accessibility of these types of instruments. As long as the instrument can still have a stylish design and great sound, pin headers are the way to go! Thank you for making this list!

Korg Volca Modular!

I don't mind these little synths at all. In fact for DIY types, it's easier to integrate with prototype projects. I'm actually going to add a little mini breadboard (maybe will need to cut in half) to my Werkstatt to have more connections and can also put some little trimmers on it for attenuators:

I're right, the last Korg Volca :)

and you made my think also at the Faselunare drum machine that has one of the breadboard you link here.

Good to see more new Pin-header devices coming out !!

I currently only have a pin-header device (Bastl Kastle, which I interface with my Eurorack setup), but looking to expand with some more desktop boxes/Eurorack modules/components that work with/use this format. Interested in anyone's cool experiences interfacing the Kastle with other devices/components, in particular Olegtron 4060/e and Error-Tron/Tropical Noise - do the electronic components that come with these devices add much scope/fun to the Kastle? Any tips for best Kastle-partners out of these devices, or any other pin header gadgets that have worked really well with the Kastle ?

Thanks!

Steve

Softpop goes great with the Kastle, and or other euro/pin header boxes. Battery/usb power, External audio in, plus three CV inputs, filter, and the "secret chamber" to adjust the default behavior of the box.

Thanks PLNB - yes, I've been eyeing that one up for a good while now - never quite got the funds might have to take the plunge tho !
