The code has been released: https://github.com/KOMA-Elektronik/FieldKitFX

I'm not seeing anything about a phaser. There's no code for it in the frequency shifter nor the UI.

received mine! loving it so far. looper is pretty fun but i wish there was a way to change the speed/pitch instead of the srr/bitcrusher (or have a variable sampling rate that affects the pitch ;) )

delay is great and really comes alive with the roll-o-decks. can easily dial in perfect octave-fifth shift and the longer time settings are super gritty and noisy, which is quite enjoyable.

should have gotten the eurorack panel, i think this will replace rosie and doepfer a-135 in my rack

Backer 629 just received mine. Most the nuts for the 1/8" jacks were screwed on so loose I could actually tighten them with my fingers, also I seem to have received a japanese plug power supply which is surprising as a lot of people the UK seem to have been sent proper UK plugs? I do wonder how many amps it requires as I have a ton of negative tip 9v supplies from my pedal days so hopefully won't be such a big deal :despair:
Other than that I must say it looks and feels very nice! Can't wait to try it out tonight.

Yup, the website says "The digitally controlled parts include the looper, the frequency shifter, sample rate reduction, bit crushing effect, phaser, the CV interface and the Roll-O-Decks."

Me too, expected a UK plug and got what looks possibly Japanese.

FX Field Kit has arrived.

No time to play until the weekend but really looking forward to getting to grips with this.
I'm looking for nothing at this moment in time

Has there been any word on how much mA the strom mobile power conditioner thingy can provide at 12v?

I was messing around with the FKFX frequency shifter in the feedback path of the Chronoblob last night. Recorded a quick clip processing some sounds from the Mother 32, Plaits, and No Coast:

So is this just the source code of the digital FX in the Field Kit FX, or is this firmware for the Field Kit FX?

anybody else noticed their Fieldkit fx getting hot? Using the provided Power brick, mine gets hot on the bottom side after 20-30 minutes.

only tested one unit briefly (not mine), and indeed it go super hot. KOMA said this is normal.

Has anyone successfully intergrated this into a larger rack? I was really excited to get the field kit but it took up too much power, had to sell it because I couldn't rack it.

 mmm... was thinking about picking one of these up somewhere down the line to partner my original... I don't like the sound of that heat in a device encased in a small wooden box with no (?) ventilation, though. I try to be careful about fire hazards, super hot would freak me out a little bit too much I think :deadbanana:

I would be incredibly surprised it could get anywhere close to hot enough to ignite the case. And it only gets hot when you're using it so, you'd at least be sitting there to notice. I've never noticed mine getting hot.

Being a wooden box, a few vent holes should be easy to add if needed.

It’ll be interesting to take a closer look inside for useful patchpoints - or for insert effects before, after or instead of certain components.

Did you order direct from them? Or from a store?

I got it directly from Koma, it's available through their website. Mine is on the way.

The dual mono output is a nice touch because it doubles as a headphone jack.

I don't know squat about coding but it could be fun to change the freq shifter to a phaser or VCA. The bit crusher could be useful as a pitch shifter. I'm not sure if this is possible.

I wrote to Koma and asked about the hidden phaser mode -- it didn't make it into the final version.

But the phaser is in the hardware right? Or was it excluded from that too?

The phaser was going to be a secret mode of the frequency shifter.

But you guys are talking about the software in GIT, not the firmware that's actually in the hardware right?
